The guy in the crowd looks like he could be military based on his haircut. Could be that he wanted to sleep around, but he didn’t want to get in UCMJ trouble for adultery.
Engagement, to me, is like standing in line to order food. I know I’m ordering the food. Its arrival is imminent and I want to eat. I wanted my own engagement to be as short as possible.
I truly don’t understand people who spend years being engaged. I mean, isn’t marriage something you want? If you’re just getting engaged because one person in the relationship wants it, maybe consider NOT getting engaged in the first place.
I don’t get it either. If you’ve been with this person that long, and you already have adult children together, what are you waiting for? Engagement should be a short process between when you’ve decided you want to marry someone and actually getting married.
I can’t imagine being engaged to someone for 20 years. The kids are 17 and 21 so it seems weird to use them as an excuse to wait. Something is off here
I get this I’m kind of on the same tip me and my girl want to get married I want to go to court and pay the certificate fee to get our marriage license and a judge to do the whole thing , she wants to have a party invite her friends and family which is going to cost close to 10k we have a house car and school loans. she not budging on this and neither am I with all the debt we have to our names so alas we won’t be getting married anytime soon.
ITT: redditors who can’t understand the concept of two people enjoying each other’s company without needlessly involving a legal process that fails half the time.
Those kids are getting old enough that he should be worried about them beating him to marriage.
who’s the comedian? He’s awesome
Not keeping your phone on silent might be a bigger red flag than the engagement lol.
What the comedians name?
Honest question: what would be the point of even being engaged if you aren’t getting married?
waiting for the kids to graduate to get married is the new waiting for the kids to graduate to get divorced
Is this venue a small funeral home?
I guess the potential tax reduction is not a consideration for them.
Dude – shit or get off the pot – there’s people waiting.
Pam if she never met Jim
“…you’re just riding the clutch”
Brilliant off the cuff analogy

Wow 21 year old kid , engaged for 20 years. I guess to avoid divorce one shouldn’t get married just stay engaged and raise kids.
But it must be awkward when they are meeting family & friends.
What do the kids tell their friends “He is my biological father but not married to my mom but they are engaged for 20 years.”
Unfortunately, this looks like it may be my fate. Engaged with no marriage on the horizon. It’s like being on layaway indefinitely lol
Maybe he’s already married in another country/state and doesn’t wanna deal with it and never told her
Wow, saw this guy for $5 in Halifax this past Sunday. Crazy.
I love good crowd work at a comedy show. This is gold.

Guy is quick on his feet

They have almost 2 adult kids!?
Unless they did a lot of planning when one of them dies it’s going to cause a lot of problems.
Do we have a lead on this comedian…?
I refused to be that woman and walked away from a relationship just like that — even though we had kids
At least get married at court for the tax benefits. It’s so stupid.
In Canada, having kids and living together makes you common law. Which is the exact same thing as being married.
Since that’s the case, why pay $300 for a certificate when you can buy a used ps5?
Dudes already legally married and just doesn’t know it.

“Get married” alarm has been on snooze for 20 years
“you can wait 20 years to get married but you can’t wait till after the show to take a call?”
I bet that ride home was awkwardly silent.
They’ve missed out on a lot of tax breaks…
Who’s this comic? I dig his style
What is the name of the comedian? Love this guy
I loved your video all those years ago! I hope some more people will see this and get a chance to watch it:
