Corrupt implies you pay someone in an official position for favors. I would say they have developed an algorithm that allows them to get the highest return on investment while at the same time having a minimum risk. Every capitalists wet dream.
They are not corrupt or evil. They just want to maximize the amount of money they can pay out to their owners. If an individual contributor gets screwed over in the process, that is of lesser consideration.
The good news is that they have managed to largely automate this process, replacing expensive employees with less expensive AI. Agreed, it fucks up on a regular basis. But who gives a damn? Not the shareholders.
