It feels wierd to say, but the mid-2000’s was a wild time. I think if this came out today people wouldn’t understand it and would take a lot of it at face value. Given, a lot of it was meant to be taken that way. But like, the plethora of “homophobic” and “racist” jokes would get so much outrage by younger people not realizing the intention was to dunk on homophobes and racists. The show was more progressive than anyone is willing to give it credit for.
