Wtf is the point of offering pre-orders if there’s a chance you aren’t even going to deliver the game on release??

Easy, never preorder, problem solved.
None. No point whatsoever. So stop doing it.
The point is so that companies can take your money without having to deliver, of course.
So in 99% of cases just don’t. Not to mention you usually can just grab it of an online store on release anyway.
I remember when they would send pre orders out early so it would arrive on release day now it seems like most of them send them out either the night before or the morning of the release day
That’s a thing now?! Well, that’s one way to reaffirm my “never pre-order” stance
Is this a meme from 10 years ago? Who the hell orders physical copies anymore? Do they even offer that nowadays?
they get the stock and can sell it on that day, if you live close to a store go there and get it physically for same day play, otherwise you wait for next day delivery if it’s an option, or you get whatever delivery they use.
Even my switch oled preorder came a day after the release, due to the delivery system…
the only thing ive ever received as a preorder on the day was my diablo 3 collectors edition.
This happened when I preordered Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga from EB Games. It didn’t come until almost a full month after release!
I saw one of your comments saying you dont want to see the reviews when the game is released, cant you just buy the game locally and not look at reviews at all? Theres really no reason to pre order unless you get something in return like extra outfits or something, and even then, it might still be not worth it.
There’s a point?!
If you preorder you deserve delays and buggy games.
Just don’t pre-order, it’s not that hard.
That’s how I ended up with 3 copies of kh3.
My favorite pre order bonus is where you “get the game 3 days early”. No…you’re just getting the game on it’s actual release. And often paying more lol. Stop pre ordering games people.
To get the sheep to per-order. Then complain that they per-ordered
I thought you morons learned better after 2077
You know what great about digital games? They’ll never run out of copies!
The last time I pre-ordered a game it was dishonored and honestly I was just willing to pay that much extra for a cool pack of tarot and poker cards
There was once a point where you might not be able to physically get a copy on release. This was when pre orders had a use
It’s been more than a decade. Don’t preorder, they’re just carved up bits of content sold as a bonus now.
Had that happen to me with skyrim. I ended pirating the game just to play while waiting for my pre-order
The point of preorders is to milk as much money as possible before even delivering any product. Did you really expect it to be in your interest?
I stopped pre-ordering after Pokemon Sun/Moon because the pre-order bonuses started to suck. How come the Japanese players got freaking figures and we got… a fucking poster.
I pre-ordered ToTK because of a discount.
I pre order a lot but i got a game once a day late and i got 10 bucks back for the trouble so i trust the shop
BS people say they don’t pre order but they DO! Diablo 4 they will pay $90-100 for early access to the MMO game filled with micro transactions. COD, FIFA or fighting games everyone gets hyped and pre orders it and waste savings on stupid in game costumes.
This goofball wants his games delivered to him in the mail when he can just buy it digitally
The other point of preordering is to avoid the possibility that it’s out of stock (which isn’t inconceivable during the first 3 days of release).
But I still feel for you if the game isn’t delivered on the day it’s released…that sucks.
If you’re that anxious to play a game ASAP. Then digital makes more sense. You can even preload and play minutes after midnight.
This clown pre-orders lmao
When I pre-ordered Elden Ring and Amazon decided to deliver my copy a week after release. Thank you Amazon!
Unless you are a collector why do u buy discs
I preorder games just for the preload and usually the day before or the night it’s going to be released. Because I am awake all night I can enjoy games at midnight so the preload is always nice for me.
Why would you even pre-order a game? All the shit we’ve gotten over the years, you’d think people would learn.
IMO pre-order =/= early access
You pre-order stuff to not take the risk that it will be sold out, so you will have a guaranteed copy/item.
Doesn’t need to be released before premiere date at all.
But that is just my take on that matter.
People that pre order games are brain dead and contribute to these developers repeatedly releasing broken games day 1
Are we still getting shocked at people who pre-order getting screwed?
I used to preorder big games back in the day because retailers would only order in a certain amount of stock. If you pre-ordered you got one.
Not there is literally no reason to pre-order.
No the cool horse and the level 4 sword that you will replace in 4 hours if gameplay is not worth it Jimmy shut up.
Is this a roastme post ? Sounds like a roastme post.
Basic nudge theory. They move the goal posts slowly over time so you do not notice.
First it was just 1 day afterwards than the following year it was two days and now we are at three. Ohh and it could be at any time up to 11pm so by the time you get it, install it and patch it. Yep you guessed it. It is now the following day but you got to go to work…shit.
The point is so they can get your money as early as possible.
“A dollar today is worth more than a dollar tomorrow.”
To me, pre-ordering is not about getting to play first, it’s to get any bonuses and a reservation to own the game before anybody else.
Only time I pre-order is if I don’t care about playing it on a specific day (notably release day), and I would be 100% buying it after release anyway.
I pre-ordered Tears of the Kingdom, since I know nothing is going to change my mind on buying it between now and release. But I also expect I won’t get to play it until a few days after release. The pre-order just means I can check it off my mental list of things to buy, and go ahead and record it in my finances.
Got burned by Amazon by the whole ‘whoops, sorry, it’s running late too bad for your day 1 purchase!’ That was my last pre-order. Too bad, they used to be pretty consistent…but if you can’t get a physical copy on time by pre-ordering, then pre-ordering is pointless. Should be called pre-purchasing anyway, since the days of depositing $10 or whatever to secure a copy are long gone.
Preordering games died off for me after they quote including physical items. Games such as Gears of War, and Halo 2 both included booklets, photos , and a poster. Which I still have till this day.
How long it will take for you people to understand that selling the game before the release is an exploit and if you’re unhappy about it, it’s about a fucking time y’all start holding to your wallet instead of paying for unreleased shit that can and probably will disappoint you in some way.
Get real people.
That’s why I get the digital copy on release day. Stopped pre-ordering after getting fucked too many times.
Release day delivery and the discount were the main reason I signed up for Amazon Prime back in the day, wasn’t long after they dropped it that I dropped prime.
Duality of gamers
Gamers: give me game on release
Also gamers: why did you release a buggy game?
