  • I’ll hit you guys with another PS Home classic: Anybody remember Sodium Hub and all the bar drink serving mini-games at Scorpio’s?

I sunk so many hours into the hovercraft mini game haha.

EDIT: I don’t usually do these but I had to since it makes me really happy knowing I brought back so many fond memories for others who played PS Home, I was really into putting together outfits for my avatar and had the cool space station that could open its roof into space as my personal home I remember and loved every second I spent in PS Home.

Also here’s my favorite track from the Sodium Hub, another nostalgic blast from the past!: https://youtu.be/tj-ZPyvSINQ

  • Wild story about that. My bro fired it up on day one and made the most hilarious looking dude. Fat dude with a pink afro. He was following people around and basically just trolling the shit out of them. The next day at school, my friend was telling me about how some fat guy with a pink afro kept following him around. What are the chances that he was following my friend specifically, who i most definitely didn’t have added.

  • THERE ARE PEOPLE THAT REMEMBER THIS? I swear i spent months in playstation home, it was fun because it was always changing and there were tons of easter eggs and minigames. A shame it got shut down on april 1st. Also a shame they introduced achievements something like 2 months before they closed it

  • The issue with the metaverse is it is boring, awesome i can spend 1k to go stand around a virtual space in vr? If you actually want a good “metaverse” game basically all you need to do is make a robust platform with its own very powerful scripting/programming language a way to import assets and a way to monetize things, basically you take Garry’s mod upgrade the engine to have larger maps or even procedural maps add vr and a way to monetize games that people make and let the community go wild.

  • its one of those you truly had to experience it in its prime to believe it type of experiences. home felt like the future of technology at the time i thought xbox was going to eventually start doing promos in home lmao. its insane how deep and rich the experience was yet its so rarely talked about. i miss home so much

  • I remember that I wanted a Wii because I liked Miis and my brother wanted a PS3 so he could play COD. He convinced me to go with PS3 because “Playstation Home is like an HD Mii Plaza”.

He was completely wrong, but I spent a lot of time in PS Home. Also, don’t regret our choice.

  • oh man i remember the bowling lobbies being absolutely full and gotta wait your turn to play with others, or sort with free on shops and buy everything free, i was absolutely frightened of the zombies on that maze and when u win u were thrown in the disco mausoleum, i used to do as much mini games as possible to unlock everything, i cant believe it took me hours to wave at the playstation move controller to unlock the skin and be able to get in, i was a master on making 3 pointers in that basketball minigame, i go waaay out of the basketball court and still manage to land it if you stop the charge bar righy exactly in the middle of the ps3 controller icon, maan i had some great memories play that, i really hope sony brings it back one day.

  • Metaverse lobbies are all just gonna be exactly like baggage claim at Las Vegas airport. Flashing lights and ads everywhere. Some shitty quick hitting transactional games.

I hate baggage claim at LV.

  • My buddy and I would go into the area in front of the big screen, so the dance emoji and type the lyrics to “Never Gonna Give You Up” in all caps. Most people yelled at us to stop but eventually like five other people joined in. It was glorious.

  • PlayStation Home went the more realistic looking route. The Metaverse is way too cartoonish.

I remember everyone gathering around in the theater section. Even just that portion is better than anything Metaverse has. What I’d say is a big fat negative for Metaverse is the fact that its made by a social media company. PlayStation Home was made a a gaming company.
