Went to lunch at an Italian place while visiting a supplier in New York City. Instead of eating in the front we were lead into a back room that was windowless with 4 brick walls and a single entrance. Was told it was for this exact type of meeting.
I’m surprised they didn’t ruin the film, break the camera, and throw the guy a couple of hundred dollars for his trouble and sent him on his way.
This is so dangerous if this is a public place. “Remember, Michael. Two shots a piece right in the head and then you run out. Don’t look at no one. They’ll be scared of you, believe me.
As a Sicilian-American, I would just like to clarify that these are businessmen discussing matters over lunch. Afterwards, the man near the upper right area of the photo would like to speak to you.
When I was young and dumb, I was invited by a friend to go see rooster fights near Seattle. Highly illegal but an amazing peek into this part of Filipino culture. anyway I was clicking away with my Canon and one guy walks up to me, puts out his hand for the camera, opens it, peels out the film and dropped it on the ground. He handed the camera back, shaking his head. Not a word was said.
I’d not call a bunch of criminals, psychopaths and social parasites cool. These are the same people who preyed on people just living their lives, the weakest among them.
There was James and Tommy and me. And there was Anthony Stabile, Franky Carbone, Fat Andy, Frankie the Wop, Freddy No Nose, Pete the Killer, Johnny Bianco, Mikey Franzese, and Jimmy Two Times, who got that nickname because he said everything twice.
My dad moved to St. Louis in the early 70’s to live with his aunt and uncle when he was about 19. My dad’s aunt was married to an Italian and they would often eat at restaurants on “The Hill”, the Italian neighborhood in St. Louis.
My dad remembers eating at restaurant’s like Cunetto’s and there was a dedicated section at the back of the restaurant where mafia figures would eat. At this time, the Giordano crime family was in charge of things. Ironically the Giordano family now has a lot of their own restaurants across the Greater St. Louis area.
Anyway, my dad vividly remembers going out with his aunt and uncle to dinner. Dad goes to take a leak and the hallway to the mens room sat adjacent to where the mafia guys would sit. My dad gave a quick look over, he goes to take one step in the mens room and feels someone pull his shoulder hard. He looks back and the guy says *”Where you goin’ kid?”* Dad stutters and says, *”just takin’ a leak”.* Guy gives my dad a once over and say to him *”I think you can hold it”* and sends him back to his table.
Clearly the guy who my old man ran into was just the muscle put watch on the bathroom door while a boss was in the men’s room. Paranoia was fucking real with those guys..

If I was holding the camera and the guy on the right gave me that look, I would put down the camera and start running
Funny how?
They left without settling the bill, because they’re crime – and crime don’t pay.

It’s amazing how classy it was to break the law back in the day
These guys were anything but cool.
They look like they’re discussing Madonna’s “Like A Virgin” and the pros and cons of tipping waitresses.
“Whassis fuckin’ mook doing witdat camera?”
Trump’s model for governance.
**Baseball!**
A man stands alone at the plate. This is the time for what?
For individual achievement.
More like a table of a-holes.
Guy in the middle left is businessman Carlos Marcello from New Orleans
All were probably dead or in prison before 1980.

Criminals, and murderers. It is fascinating how popular culture romanticized them and their lives.
Oldschooldirtbags
I love how we idolize criminals. We humans are all twisted up.
I bet the bald bowtie guy is the money manager/accountant of the group
“I took care of that thing with that guy.”
Some great found footage. In this case in a landfill in New Jersey. Last shot on the roll.
That’s Jimmy 2 Times Jimmy 2 Times
They’re just businessmen doing business, nothing to see here.
“You think I’m funny? How am I funny?”
“Easy there we’ll make them an offer they can’t refuse”
“You buddy, are stuck in a situation you created, so if you wanna throw bad looks somewhere , throw em at a mirror!”
“Mama’s spaghetti is delicious! ”
“It’s a family recipe”
“Leave the gun, take the cannoli”
pallies
Did the photographer make it out of the restaurant alive?
Louie, take care of that photographer.
What gets me about this pic is you have 7 grown men sitting at a rather small table.
“Whoozz dis guy wit da fuckin camera??”
What mafia? I only see Italian-American businessmen.

I can guarantee no one paid for that meal after they finished.
Murderers, rapists, defrauders, and thieves are not cool.
Third from the left is Carlos Marcello from New Orleans. At this time he was one of the most powerful Dons in the country.
