The steam deck might not be the best in term of performance or screen quality but i haven’t seen anything that can compete for comfort and ergonomics. I had my doubts but those controls work very well.
Steam deck is huge, so not for me cause I’d like something more portable. Win4 is nice and has a keyboard which makes it more useful somewhat. But the pride is crazy. 1000-800$ depends if you want 1 or half a TB. And good luck paying they cause scalpers have grabbed them all
I’ve been looking at the steam deck but it almost looks just like a Wii U touch pad and I didn’t like the feel of that all too much. How’s it feel holding and playing games?
What’s the “STEAN” button for? I assumed it said STEAM but when I zoom in on the picture it very much looks like it says Stean with a clear capital N. Is anyone else seeing this or am I the only one?
I’m not sure if a smaller footprint is always better for portables. I find the Switch with attached Joycons to be uncomfortably small after even a short time.
The Steam Deck is just way too big and clunky. That’s the number one reason I never bought one and am going with the Asus Ally – The Deck is ugly, heavy and unwieldy. It might be ergonomic but I am not trying to hold a dumbell while playing in bed.
Xbox layout?
Im annoyed how retro handhelds are using that.
Ps layout you can use both dpad and stick comfortably. Xbox layout using the pad sucks and stick mashing is harder because your thumb is already extended.
Also claw grip is bad on xb layout.
Its not symmetrical.
It was also historically the ps layout and didnt need to be changed to begin with
I find the SD quite comfortable, it just sits in my hands. I dunno if the GPD would work for me. I just would love the SD to have a bigger better screen…
Why the fuck do portable consoles always have such shit ergonomics. Any DS, Gameboy, PSP, Vita, Switch, this Win4 thing.
When will these companies understand that if I buy a portable console, I probably want to be able to use it for 5 minutes without my fucking hands cramping. The steam deck is quite literally the only console I can think of that did it right
I am questioning if I should sell my Deck and one of my Vita’s and get one. Maybe its my recent seizures or maybe my autism or something, but I feel like the anime girl on my body pillows who is meant to represent the PSP will be upset if I do that.
The Steam Deck is so much more comfortable to hold than any other handheld. Been playing Tears of the Kingdom on my switch and I forgot how annoying it is to hold.
does it compete in ability (to run games)?

Looks like they based their design on the PSP.

The steamdeck hurts wrists if holding for too long its a heavy bit of kit.
Now do the asus rog ally extrem z1!
… no?
Therye like pc right?
Glory to Valve software
People are gonna be playing with broken right thumbs
Guys I’m downloading warzone 2 on it, I’ll keep everyone posted
How does the Win 4 stack up? Was tossing up between these too.

Another deck measuring contest
Tbh, I don’t know which is which, but the bottom one looks much more ergonomic.
Offset sticks 🤪

Yep the bottom ones design looks better.

I’d take the steam deck any day
The aligned joysticks is so much better on the steam deck

The deck is the most comfortable handheld in the game right now. So much so I can’t even touch my switch now.
The problem with the whole specs thing is none of that shit matters in 2023, especially on a small screen.
The experience on the deck is bar none as well
You would think they could have made the steam deck look better, smaller and not have added those ugly bezels. Lmao. Sad honestly.

I don’t know anyone who owns a steam deck, is it good?
if only the steam deck didnt have such a shitty control layout i would have got it. might actually go with the rog ally
