Pretty neat. Guy explains this well.
Interesting but I think video is extremely long to explain a relatively simple subject.
TL;DW: Avocado seeds don’t produce perfect clones of their parent fruit, you have to plant a lot of them, get one that does by chance and then graft in order to reproduce the fruit.
This video was a bit tedious, but glad I made it to the end. Gained a much better understanding of grafting that I will now carry with me through the rest of my gardening life, and that’s damn cool.
I currently aged three years and this video is still not over.
“1 out of 10,000 avocados trees will grow into something edible. That means 9,999 trees will not make an edible fruit. So most all of the tree you grow from seed actually won’t create a fruit that is edible.” Jesus dude yeah you just said the same thing 5 different ways. We get it.
So giant sloths did not have discerning taste.
You’ve been mansplained.
Did you know that avocado seeds do not grow the same fruit? Avocados are not true to seed. That means that you cannot grow the same fruit from the seed. This is called true to seed when you get the same fruit from the seed. Avocados are not true to seed.
You probably do not know that true to seed means you get the same fruit. Also, you might be interested to learn that all avocados are not true to seed.
Why not just make sure two trees of the same type pollinate each other?
Holy shit get to the point!
I’m now curious about these other avocado varieties, and how they taste different. Would be nice to buy 1 big avocado instead of 4 little ones.
Also, 30s video stretched to 11m
I see this video is making its yearly rounds on the recommended YT videos again.
So my best bet is to buy a haas avocado plant
I like how he fails to adequately explain anything.
