I keep them because I know one day I’m going to sell or trade in the device once I get the next model (console, phone, etc.) I also hang onto any box for the first month or so just to ensure if it dies, I have a box that fits to send it back in for a replacement.
I keep all my console boxes. Eventually pack them back up in their boxes once enough generations have passed. Just packed up my fatty PS3 once I got PS5.
I got a big garage. It is full of boxes of PC hardware, console stuff, anime figurines, other electronics and stuff.
Usually with the intend to increase value when I sell stuff. Selling a Switch complete in the original box for example increases the chance people want to buy it for a good amount. It shows that it is taking care of it.
Also a lot of the boxes have cool art. Some I keep on a shelf in my home.

I don’t love to keep them, but I’m concerned I’ll need them for some reason, so keep them with that in mind.
After building pc, i personally throw away only Case box.
Same went with Monitor box, since it was huge compared to its product itself.

Yeah, it’s a problem. The hardest thing about moving out of my parents years and years ago was throwing away all huge PC game boxes I had to recycle.
I don’t have the space to, I’m not gung-ho for keeping my console boxes but of course physical games I’m all about that
