Skyrim for sure. I’ve easily spent over 1000 hours on that game. I’ve bought it on 360, Xbox One, and PC and it was probably 100-120 total. Absolutely best value of games I’ve played.
I use this logic all the time when people say $60 is too much for a game. Spend 60 hours playing a game and it’s basically $1 per hour of entertainment.
While the same people will go out to dinner or to a bar and spend about the same amount in 1 night.
Neverwinter Nights EE/Diamond. I played it every day for perhaps 6 years. IIRC the game was less than $20. I still play it every once in a while too, and I haven’t even scratched the surface of the player modding community.
7 Days to Die is the most hours played in my Steam account, 618. And I probably paid $10 or so, got it a long time ago when it was very early days.
Robocraft is at 500 hours. F2P but I did buy some credits at one point, so I’m not sure how much I’ve spent total, maybe like $20.
Skyrim only says 100 hours but I think I bought it a long time ago and those original play hours didn’t come over with the Anniversary update or something. No idea what I’ve paid for that total.
Stardew Valley is pretty good. Paid like $15 and got 120 hours out of it.
Steam doesn’t have accurate numbers for everything for sure. Looking through my library sorted by hours played, Half Life 2 has zero hours. I’ve played it and all DLC through at least 4 or 5 times.
I am very alone with this since seemingly everyone else dropped it after the first two months, but:
Animal Crossing: New Horizons seems very worth it for me.
I played ot sonce release, and I played almost every day a little bit to calm down.
It does wonders for my brain, I can focus on it, do and finish little projects, focus on specific little goals…
Every day a step closer to what I want to accomplish.
60€ is a lot, but I felt like I got so much enjoyment out of it so that every cent was worth it.
Anarchy Online. Never paid a dime. My main had like 2 months worth of in game hours.
Halo 3…not sure I played anything for like 2 years
Rocket League, got it for free when it was on ps+ just as a joke and it’s become one of my favorite bs games
Minecraft I’ve played probably 5-10 thousand hours and still not bored, but any game that has an active modding community is a very good value game
Final Fantasy 14 has given me almost 2,000 hours of play in about two years.
I don’t know how much exactly I spent on subscriptions but it’s ten times more hours than I’ve spent on anything else.
Warframe for sure. I’ve got far too many hours and I haven’t spent much on it.
Sometimes I hesitate to buy a game a full price, but thinking of how many hours of pure enjoyment I could get… makes it worth it.
No issue paying $50 for a meal or drinks at a bar. But always hesitate when a brand new game comes out. 🙄
Elite Dangerous. 10€ for 365 hours played. That makes 0,03 dollar/hour
For open-ended games with no story to speak of, probably Sims 3.
For story-based games, Dragon’s Dogma:Dark Arisen. I put in a lot of hours AND I got it on sale.
Close runner-up would be Skyrim (but I paid full price for that one).
Warzone. Played it for more than 500hours at the modest price of 0.00£👌
I played XCOM 2 for 3700+ some hours.
You’d have to work a full 8 hour shift for 462 days to play as much as I did.
I still play Company of heros 2 today. According to steam I’ve logged about 1,873 hours.
Had a bunch of hours into both smite and warframe that are free. I ended up spending some money to support the devs.
Other than that Factorio
New Vegas, still playing it 12 years later
Civ 5, probably.
Skyrim definitely. I still play it. About 1300 hours about now.
RimWorld. I’m playing it now. 1,663 hours. Also $0.04/hr, since I bought the DLCs.
Factorio has an official policy of never going on sale because they firmly believe their game is worth its $30 sticker price.
They’re god damn right.
Terraria

Civ 6 is up there.
Probably Mad Max. I paid 5 bucks for it and have played over 250 hours. What an underrated gem.
Breath of the wild. Approaching 1000 hours
Diablo 2, Starcraft, Call of Duty: UO.
Borderlands 2 ftw
Kerbal space program.
Bought for 19.99€
2300h on record.
Valheim for sure, great game dirt cheap no subs. I spent so much time on it, definitely one of the best value purchases I’ve made
I think I bought orange box for $50 and have 1,440 hours logged on tf2 and another 2 hours on portal so that’s a hair under $.035/hour
Elite Dangerous. Close to 7k hours played.
Roubding down to 6.5k, it makes it $0.00769/hr.
Pretty good.
TF2

Right now, it’s Stardew Valley. Crap gets addictive like Civilization, just one more day and one more day

XCOM 2
Probably ac odyssey, I’ve spent 20 bucks on it with 500+ hours… amazing game
Satisfactory..
BTD6, I don’t play it much anymore but I bought it for $5 during a steam sale and have over 400 hours in it
