When I hear these young gamers today… “My parents just don’t understand gaming…”

Ah the joys of portable gaming. You can play in the livingroom AND your bedroom!
Mine don’t. The “games” appeared in my country in the 2000’s. So they were kinda too old for them already.
Pitfall!!! Lol I remember that setup AND the game.
That looks like Pitfall.
Dude, I loved that and rocked it. Great setup dude, make sure it’s on channel 4 for the best picture. Kids won’t understand that either.
“WA WA WU WaAaAuAuAuUUUUAuUUUaUuUuaU!”
Now make that a black and white television and that experience would be complete.
Oooooooooo mfer had a color TV fuckin brag about it why dontcha 😤
On the rolly cart and everything. You could move that shit wherever you wanted.
My current set up is a modern version of this. PS4, flat screen, a power strip on a sturdy rubbermaid cart. Wheel that shit into the dank recesses of the house when company comes over.
Had that almost identical set up, while I screamed at Indiana Jones and that bastard snake.
A cart? My first 2600 was connected to a 500 pound RCA console tv.
That tv looks like a old microwave with those dials
I am 24 and I would rather to have this setup over a ps5 or xbox series x.
I had A 32 inch floor model that weighed a million pounds. Everyone came to my house. Drove my Dad nuts. So worth it.
I always made fun of gamers who jerked their controllers around in fighting & racing games.
I never put it together that I was only trained *not* to because jerking the controller meant courting death, back in the early days.
Damn, you got that old TV working? You gotta be magic or something.
So many hours being eaten by the dam alligator
It may be 1982, but they were living in 2022
Is this a DEDICATED TV set to Atari? Are you kidding me? No fight with parents on the UNIQUE TV in the whole house?
Pitfall. Nice.
Throw in a wired TV remote and that was basically my 80s setup.
The first game I ever played, the start of my gaming adventure
I mean you gotta give it to them, gaming today is much harder to understand than it was in 1982.
Forget about the Atari 2600 for a moment – the TV stand/cart and TV with rotary VHF (2-13) and UHF (14-69/83) channel and no remote definitely are late 1970s/early 1980s.
Some people were lucky enough to play games on a 25” floor console TV.
It was summer 1984; my parents left on a Saturday morning to watch Olympic bike racing in south OC. They left me and my sibs with a babysitter who wheeled the TV cart and Atari into my bedroom, for the first time ever (my Dad would have freaked out). What a memory, thanks OP!
1982? The C64 easily triumphed over the 2600 in terms of sheer graphical and processing power.
I wouldn’t mind that setup now. Is that pitfall?
Where is the RGBs?
Meanwhile I can hear the static hum coming off that TV screen. Man those were good days…
Don’t go down that ladder. I hear there’s a pit of lava with crushing spike walls and fire sharks with laser beams and upside down volcanoes in there.
Oh wait that’s Super Pitfall.
Has anyone else played that map on the clown level of marvel ultimate alliance? (Underrated game btw which deserves a remake)
I had the fancy keyboard atari pitfall 2 and whatever the first person space ship game was were so good
