Great question and controller choice. My favorite retro controller is the Sega Genesis 6 Button . My favorite modern day controller is the Xbox Series controller. Those two controllers never broke down on me and still very fun, durable to this day. Especially the 6 button one.
PS3. Wireless. Rechargeable. No stupid lights or track pad to sap it’s power. No stupid speaker that sounds horrible. Just a simple, effective controller. Oh, and the D pad is legendary.
Gamecube! Played a lot of retro games growing up, so I have some nostalgia for the SNES controller, but the gamecube controller just feels right… Someone at nintendo must think so too seeing as they made a way to use it on the next three consoles
Astro c40 in Playstation layout with a custom battle beaver extreme tension on the left stick and increased tension on the right stick, short height concave bumped thumbs with aftermarket aluminum faceplate.
“The Duke” original Xbox first controller I used. At 8yrs old playing Halo 2 against my older brothers friends (they were in highschool) and I won a 3v1 death match. I legit couldn’t hold it had to play on the floor
The Wii U Pro Controller. Imagine a joypad that actually ergonomically makes sense, having both sticks on top and dpad and buttons down below. Also the battery literally lasts a full month of gametime, even after all these years.
I’ve been using PS controllers all my life so PS3 for me. It’s lightweight and battery can last longer hours. I do however love the PS5 with Dualsense. I am impress how far the technology has come.
Super nintendo it was indestructible
The WiiU pro controller. Having both analog sticks in the “high” position just feels so great and natural to me.
Still have my corded 360 controller, still flawless imo.

PS2. I played it religiously and the feel of the controller is engrained my mind.
