This reminds me of something I saw about 15 years ago in a Coop* in Biel.
There was a giant glass of Nutella. It was labelled with “SUPERPREIS/SUPERPRIX” and its price. It said how many kilogrammes there were in that giant glass and, for some reason, I instantly felt like it couldn’t be the normal price or less per 100 grammes. I don’t know why, but I think I actually knew the price of a small-ish glass of Nutella and how much was in it by heart for some reason. (Yes, I know, this sounds as if I just don’t want to admit that I used to constantly eat Nutella back then. But the thing is that there are a lot of things I buy all the time and I keep forgetting completely how much they cost. So this would have been unusual.)
I didn’t trust my gut and did the maths with the help of one of the normal-sized (the one used in commercials) or one of the small-ish glasses of Nutella next to the giant one. And I was right. The Nutella for that “SUPERPREIS/SUPERPRIX” cost more per 100 grammes than the one in the normal glass. Significantly more.
I mean, what does “SUPERPREIS/SUPERPRIX” actually imply? That the product costs little money? “Super” often does stand for “big”, after all! But still, of course, it felt soooooooo dishonest. It’s not like they advertised the glass it was in as some kind of cool novelty. No, they really made it sound like a super deal for anyone who wanted to buy about five kilogrammes of Nutella.
*Edit: Oops, didn’t really register I wasn’t in a Swiss forum anymore. “Coop” is just a supermarket chain. Profit-oriented and everything. It’s not a co-op. (Though the name originally comes from there.)
This happened to me at this one ocean state job lot near me but with vanilla…they had the small bottle for 5.99, I never even looked at cost of the larger one, and thought vanilla was this super expensive thing since Covid 😂 then I learned fit was a miss price…reminds me though I still need more vanilla
isn’t this done so you’d buy more of the smaller size to “win”? basically you would’ve only bough one smaller size, but since you see you get more for less with 2 packs, you end up buying two.
basically the bigger pack is only there to make the smaller one look cheaper
Those exact treat sticks scared the hell out of me a couple of years ago. My lab was a little puppy, chewed through half of one and legit inhaled the rest.
Hmm… Volume Surcharge?
Doesn’t matter, most Americans can’t do math

Yes size doesnt matter! So much wrong with this post
Youre paying for more bag.
Dog treats with the price of a fine salmon filet…
Microtransaction.
Yes you have 50 and 100 pieces but aren’t they bigger in bigger pack?

it can exist together because it helps you make a choice if you use your braincells
“wow i got a deal”
the store cares that you buy is all
You are a bad shopper one is 19.4oz and the other is 7 you also get 5.4oz more so the big bag is cheaper
Okay, clearly different sized items IN the bags. One is made for smaller dogs, one for larger dogs.

Demand is surging when you buy in bulk I guess.
I saw the same thing at my local albertsons. Lol
In Australia all items must show cents per gram. Makes it super easy to find the cheap option.
I had to stop scrolling and look again at this picture because my mind was somehow reading ” tits ” on the package.
Please don;t buy this shit for your doG!!!!
