What’s a scary moment from a game you’ll never forget? I think this was my first real one.

The vents were even scarier lol
The face huggers from Duke Nukem 3-D.
Ravenholme – Half Life 2
Flood in halo, and then husks from mass effect
Dead space 1 scared the shit out of me. And also Jack chasing you around in Resident Evil 7. Only real scary RE *chaser*.
Mr.X and Nemesis are more cool than scary at this point. And lady D & her daughters…well you know.
Resident Evil 1 – at the beginning with the zombie. Actually the whole game. At the time I had never seen anything like it.
The last 2 resident evil games
Yep. F.E.A.R. definitely got me.
Silent hill when the babies are on fire chasing you.
In the persius mandate dlc is a pretty fucked up jumpscare in a dead end, quite early on
Nemesis chasing you through loading doors on ps1
When I was like 10, my grandma took me to GameStop to get a GameCube game. I got this game called premonitions, pretty advanced for my age but I liked the puzzles and did think it could be any worse then resident evil 4 so I popped it in, it had started thunder storming in real life by the time I got home. Games got a real silent hill vibe too it expect red fog and pretty much red everything, I had my cube hooked up to a box tv in the back bedroom, lights off playing away, when our transformer went out right on a jump scare. This room was really dark, power just went out, and I was staring at a screen so the horrifying twisted face was burned into my eyes and I could see it all over this pitch black room. I also have a habit of locking the door, so when I tried to run out I ran face first into the doorknob and peed myself. Never quite felt that rush of adrenaline quite like that night, I’ve been chasing it ever since but nothings came close and it was all circumstantial 😂
It was definetly this moment in F.E.A.R there are certain parts of horror games that are untouched by fear. One of which for me was the ladder animation.
I bet there was so many people that missed it. It’s also a time I might use to quickly check my phone, or just look away from the screen.
Resident Evil 2 on ps1. When those hands busted thru the boards…
Resident evil 2- the zombie hands jumpscare in the police station, I can’t still hear how it sounds til this day
The first BioShock. Filled with anxiety inducing moments, jumpscares and environments that make my skin crawl just thinking about them. Best game ever
Condemned Criminal Origins – The Locker scene
I had the lucky privilege of playing that game years after release with no spoilers and that god damn locker scene almost made me shit myself 1st time.
GREAT GAME

my face in game where loading screens are pure black
The encounters in Alien: Isolation.
They get you dodging androids and crafting and doing this so you can do that until you’ve just about forgotten theres a xenomorph stalking you and then *they fucking remind your ass*.
I have never felt such an oppressive sense of threat from a videogame before.
That exact moment in F.E.A.R. might still be the biggest jump scare I’ve ever experienced..
Playing fallout 3 when it first came out, i was creeping up on a raider camp or something i dont quite remember, i was stealthing up on some guys out in the world. And a god damn NPC ran up behind me to talk and the camera whipped around and zoomed into his face, it was just one of those NPCs that run up to tell you about a quest or whatever, but still it was so sudden and unexpected.
scared the fuck out of me, dropped my controller and the batteries fell out. still the biggest video game jumpscare of my life lol
In resident evil 2, The sewer level had those massive tarantulas. I remember seeing one leg come around the corner , then another and another. I could barely move my hands I was so scared .
Every second of every minute of SOMA
Two words: Mobile mannequins…
Resident evil 1
The first zombie
That specific scare can skipped by just jumping down instead of using the ladder
The spikey bois on RE4 with that fucked up breathing. Full on nightmares
Max Payne nightmare level
Loved F.E.A.R – such an underrated game.
The introduction of Houdini splicers in Bioshock. Super creepy vibe, then smacked with a jump scare before being immediately pushed into combat
That fucking baby slug monster in RE village, so much nope
RDR2 has a bunch of creepy things and jump scares. Just this morning I found a lady crying in the swamp near Lagras. I asked a couple times what was wrong and then she looked up and her face was painted like a skull and she tried to knife me while three men with same skulls came out of the trees with axes. Nearly fell out of my chair!
