i don’t remember my first video game, but i do remember that the first time i ever infected a family computer and learned that the internet had real-world consequences was when i tried to download a pajama sam warez. i was probably 8 or 9 years old. younger than that, i remember playing pokemon red when i was just learning to read and my dad teaching me what “critical hit” meant
I spent so many quarters at the local ice cream shop when that first came out. Then all of the others started rolling in. Tempest, Asteroids, then it got real when they got Tron, Robotron, Defender etc.
But from the first time I played Space Invaders, I was hooked and have been a gamer since.
