This is Days Gone’s night sky.
I don’t have any examples on hand, but **Red Dead Redemption 2** definitely needs a nomination for best overall aesthetics. I spent so much time in photo mode on that game, I swear it accounts for at least 1/4 of my playtime.
Always enjoyed Skyrims night sky, but there’s better now. I just haven’t gotten the chance to enjoy them.
Maybe not the best, but I always like the night sky in Read Dead 1
Arma. Always appreciate a game that shows true star positions. Night navigation.
Elite Dangerous.
There’s always something so satisfying about knowing that all of the stars that you can see in the sky can actually be traveled to in this game.
Sea of Thieves has a surprisingly amazing night sky. Well, depending on the weather you’re dealing with

Destiny (the 1st)
Not gonna lie, my top was rdr2 but after playing forbidden west on PS5 that game has some of the best skies night and day I have ever seen
Elden Ring’s environments are gorgeous
Far Cry 5
Subnautica
To me, nothing beats the first time I looked up and saw the rest of the ring towering overhead in Halo.

Destiny skyboxes are nuts. Horizon as well
Red Dead redemption 2 has a beautiful night sky sometimes it’s really something.
Dark souls 3 – Boreal Valley
RDR2 night sky is something else. And Horizon Zero Dawn. And little jewel I like to call Outward…look it up.

Probably doesn’t hold up anymore, but the first thing that popped into my head was Morrowind. I remember being blown away by the night sky in that game when I played it the first time.
I like the fact that there are no stars in the partial moon. It’s a small pet peeve of mine that sometimes games (movies/shows/comics) will put stars where moon shadow should be.
