I know I’m old when the most exciting item in this lovely photo is that amazing lamp.
Old school rich kids
Christmas joke (NSFW) A 17 year old male walks into a drug store. He says “I’ve been invited to Christmas dinner at my new girlfriend’s house. Afterwards I hope there is a chance I get lucky, you know what I mean”
Clerk: “How about condoms then? They could come in handy. Here’s a pack.” The young man after paying walks to the door, stops, smiles, comes back: “you know what, the mom is also smoking hot, I think I’ll take another pack, just in case I get extra lucky.”
Christmas eve comes around, the boy sits at the dinner table and doesn’t say a word. After a while his girlfriend says: “if I had known you were so quiet, I wouldn’t have invited you.” the young man replies “if you had told me your dad works at a drug store, I wouldn’t have come.”
That tree’s a unit
Maybe it’s just how *theirs* looked. When people see an old ass picture they just think, “that’s how everyone did it, everywhere back then…” Not always true.
Well off kids from back then.
These kids are pissed because they just know they won’t be getting electronic shit this year.
It feels a touch weird knowing these two kids are long gone now. Maybe because I’m middle aged and feeling my own mortality
I really want to know more. Sometimes I can actually track down people in these old images, and uncover a rich life, or a short one.
Thanks for posting
It looks like all the toys are for the little boy lol
Add hundreds of real candles next to that tinsel. What could go wrong!?
Where can I get a tree like this.
My brain: 103 years ago = the 1800s. Not 1920.
Fuck I’m old.
This isn’t one of those trees where all the needles falls off, is it?
It’s the chandelier *in* the tree for me.
I hope the kid gets his Xbox like he asked
Loblolly pine?
Damn, some lucky kid got a wheel stick! Wheel stick fun.
Love old pics💙thank you for posting
Anyone remember 1950s silver tinsel ,
this tinsel was still used in the 1960s and had a acrid sour smell caused nausea after minutes near it.
Wow…never seen one of this before.

Ran it through a colourisation app.
All I can see here is kindling.
First thought: wrapping paper is a scam.
Second thought: man, they were nearly as materialistic as us.
What’s missing here? Plastic.
They were rich.
Christmas was probably pretty special back then.
Two very wealthy children…
That young lady was a contemporary of my grandfather, and he’s been gone for over 35 years.
“Dad, that wouldn’t even fit in our yard…..it’s not going in our yard Russ….its going in our living room.”
Yeah this is what Christmas looked like for the super rich. 1920’s kids who weren’t super rich would have had one present and it was probably an orange haha. And they would have been super grateful
Wow this is amazing
*oh tannenbaum, oh tannenbaum,
all our Christmas traditions are frigging German*
Fun fact of the day: Tinsel back then was made of lead.
Is that Great Grandpa Griswold on the left? I see they’ve been doing trees like this forever!
This photo makes me so happy.
My grandma passed away a little over a month ago at 103. It’s so cool to see what Christmas may have looked like for her family.
Thank you for making me think of her.
