Not the worst “discount” I’ve ever seen before. I used to work at a grocery store many years ago and we had these microwavable dinners that were normally $0.89 but occasionally we’d put them on sale for 10 for $10 and they’d sell like crazy. I’ll let you do the math on that one…
I know we joke about it, but in case anyone’s wondering- this is mostly just computer updates to get the game officially into the ‘clearance’ category in the system. The actual price drops come later. We do similar things where I work sometimes (although we deal in even dollar amounts for clearance so it’s normally a 99 cent discount if we do this.)
People used to bring this up to me at the register like, wtf why only 2 cents off!? We did this just so we could keep track of the Clearance items more easily. Usually there was a blanket discount on clearance items like 50% off all clearance items! But they would have to be manually marked in the system as clearance, then there is a requirement to clearly mark the item with a tag. So most of the time you didn’t know what the original price was, just the last list price so you just change that by 2 cents when you made it a clearance item. Then you had to get this all done before the sale and we didn’t have a lot of free space so it would go back out on to the floor before the sale -_-. If you buy something on Clearance with no sale then your a chump. Just wait a day or two, or ask when the sale is the floor people might tell you and no they can’t give you the sale early -_-.
Even as someone who likes playing an Ubisoft game every once in a while, the “A Ubisoft Original” makes me cringe every time I see it. It’s like they wanted to be like HBO with prestige TV and just fell flat.
Yeah. It’s called marketing. Walmart does this with yellow tags. They are yellow to make you think there’s an actual discount hoping you won’t read the original price.
That is truly a big discount! Just my two cents though.
Biggest sale of history
With the price of the sticker they lose 2 extra cents.

What are you planning to do with the 2 pennies you saved?

Theyre no longer asking for your two cents. They dont give a shit about your opinion anymore!
If it was 2 cents, it’d be 3 cents too much.
Its not even worth 10$
I wouldn’t play FarCry 4,5 or 6 if they paid me for it.

If you count inflation you got like a 10%+ off hehe
