Imagining, based on my expertise in water harmonics from having seen Star Trek 4 several times, the last 15 seconds sounds like a boatful of monkeys, to the whale.
I dunno, I can’t help but imagine that the sound of that boat’s motor would drive them fucking insane underwater. If it’s that loud above water I can only imagine how loud it would be underwater.
Probably the most extraordinary sight I’ve ever seen was early one morning I was just out of bed and heading to the kitchen; something caught my attention in my peripheral vision and I turned in time to watch an adult humpback whale (45′ – 50′ long) surfing down the face of a 20’+ wave. It was obviously a deliberate action just as dolphins like to surf. I once counted 43 humpbacks in one day but the next best sight was when a pod of whales were logging below my balcony; they settled in at dusk and “woke” up early the next morning to continue their northern migration. Nature sure is grand!
My neighbour growing up was paralyzed by a humpback landing on his fishing boat. Amazing creatures, had close to similar experience as this, but they can be clumsy.
[Here it is cued up to the breach.](https://youtu.be/zZTQngw8MZE?t=118)
It, uh… didn’t jump out of no where. It jumped right up out of the ocean, there. Yeah, outta the water.
PEEKABOO!!
Damn what a spectacle.
Tourboat captain slips an envelope to the whale later, “Hey great show Charlie, a real crowdpleaser that one. See you Friday, yeah?”
skip to 1:50
I would take a 15 second vertical video over this any day, I like how these platforms forced people to get to the point
Is it just me or could this video be 2 minutes shorter?
Out of nowhere? I saw it; it jumped out of the ocean!
Viewing hint: fast forward to 1:55 so you don’t waste your time.
Pretty cool really.
Do a kickflip!
Everybody enjoyed that except the baby. That got way too real for it.
It’d be even cooler if it jumped out of it’s tail.
Misleading headline. The whale was not part of the tour group.
Friggin whale knew exactly what he/she was doing, probably giggled when they dove. lol
What a stupid title for this video. What, do other whales announce their jump ahead of time?
The amount of power that is generated by a creature that size to be able to come that far out of the water is amazing.
It looked to me like the whale jumped out of the water.
Sounds like this is in Australia but isn’t there regulation on how close you can get to them?
It would be less out of nowhere if the video were 1:58 shorter
Skip to 2:00. But pretty awesome

the baby crying is a nice touch
“What’s the water temperature?”
You are about to find out…
Once again, Nature in its absolute expertise shows mankind how you fucking photobomb.
Well done, whale. Well done.
This video could have been 2 min shorter…
I was in the bathroom. What happened?
That whale knew exactly what he was doing. He’s a good sport.
I’m pretty sure it jumped out of the ocean.
Whale to friends:
“Hey. Watch me freak out these people.”
I dunno, I can’t help but imagine that the sound of that boat’s motor would drive them fucking insane underwater. If it’s that loud above water I can only imagine how loud it would be underwater.
There was already whale action going on at a distance.
*something Australian, something Australian, OVAH*
Incredible camera work.
Humpbacks are one of my all-time favourite mammals. However, all I could take away from this video was, “someone brought a baby on the boat?” LOL
If you slow it down you can see the whale jumped out of the ocean.
Is the whale just like showing off here? Why do this so close to a boat otherwise? Is it just thinking “ima make y’all’s week with this next move”?

whale jumps out of ‘nowhere’……..’nowhere’ as in, the ocean, where it lives
this should be a 30 sec video
