Weird Al, with Fran Drescher, in his 1989 movie UHF. For those who aren’t yet getting mail from AARP, low-budget Ultra High Frequency television stations used to feature local wannabe performers, and show things the networks didn’t want, such as Mexican wrestling.

when i was a kid in the 80s we still had a tv with an analog rotary dial, like an analog radio, and you could dial in uhf stations way high up there, on real narrow bands.

When I was about 10 I went with a friends family on a road trip to visit her grandmother in North Tonawanda New York. In February. That trip was my first introduction to KFC, Walmart, 10 pin bowling, and the fine film UHF. My friends older brother who must gave been about 14 put UHF on every day we were there.

Our UHF stations in my Canadian hometown were pirate broadcasts of descrambled HBO, showtime, Cinemax, USA, back when those were all satellite channels. Ironically I first watched UHF on UHF.
This is the first thing I ever saw weird al in and so it was a shock to me he was known for his parody music because I thought he was a actor and comedian
Michael Richards was also in this movie and he was awesome

What do you think R.J. Fletcher Senior would be saying if he were alive today?
This is one of the most underrated films ever. Right up there with stuff like Blazing Saddles in the best comedy of all time category in my book.
We got it all on UHF!
I just want to see if my interocetor can withstand a sudden charge of 20,000 volts.
