I agree with this guy but he’s not going to get what he’s asking for. As he said, the companies that make these bikes all don’t want to do it. The solution is to just build your own Ebike, it’s much easier than it used to be, lots of components available. You can build something way cheaper and faster than you can buy.
i just bought a ninebot f65 and im convinced its the same deal. if some cells go wonky, i’m betting i can just unscrew and replace them if they dont glue the whole fucksack together
Isn’t it this just a problem with higher end bikes? I’ve been dabbling in ebike vids and it seems like the Chinese brands actually have a lot of cross capability.
If you don’t know how to make your own build you will get screwed over. it’s capitalism. When you know what your doing, your battery, controller and motor can be fitted to any regular bike you want.
Ahh, isn’t he cute? The incompatibility is by design. Think about it. The request is that everyone “decide” on a standard, but the decision to not be standard was already made, so who exactly is this request for? If standardization made more money, then everyone would already be doing it. The only audience this could be for is government or people who lobby governments. They have succeeded in the UK in standardizing chargers, which has had a tremendous impact on reducing e-waste all over, and it only took… 20 years.

Sounds like people should stop buying 10k shovel ware? Shit buy a car at that point
Sounds like something for the EU governing body to tackle here in about 4 years. Regulation here in the US isn’t going to happen.
