I grew up watching so many episodes of The Simpsons. Getting the DVDs are rewatching over and over and over. So much of the way I talk and make jokes are clearly influenced by them to the point I’ve forgotten. One of the things I like doing is saying something and/or something and this clip was reminded once again that I have no originality, I just copy The Simpsons.
I used to be with ‘it’, but then they changed what ‘it’ was. Now what I’m with isn’t ‘it’ anymore and what’s ‘it’ seems weird and scary. It’ll happen to you!
If this were on Family Guy, it would have been some random pop song like Surfin Bird with no character-oriented jokes. If it were South Park, it would be a bunch of shitting SFX.
Some Simpsons gags are timeless. And this is definitely one of them. Compared to some of the other elaborate pranks that Bart has pulled, this one is oddly wholesome. He doesn’t destroy anything or cause any property damage. He just upsets an overly uptight priest. And I, for one, always cheer on such efforts.
On the off chance someone also noticed and thinks it’s cool, this was written by Greg Daniels who then created King of the Hill with Mike Judge before The Office and Parks and Recreation.
One of the greatest moments in TV history.

Ahh memories from a more civilized time.
Remember seeing this episode when it originally aired. Great
Classic Simpsons is the pinnacle of humor, it doesn’t get any better.

As much as this is a joke I love that it actually sounds great. I’d pay for a full 17 minute performance if there’s an organist up for it.
I am familiar with the works of Pablo Neruda.
I love how you hear Barts voice singing above everyone elses at the beginning
God I miss the days of The Simpsons at it’s peak.

Because no one else has said it:
Iron Butterfly: in-a-gadda-da-vida
Hey Marge, remember when we used to make out to this hymn?
I have and will always describe it as and/or because of this scene.

My favourite Christmas song of all time.
“where I will eat NOT but burning hot COAL, and drink NOT but burning hot COLa!”

When this show will end

Wow just found out Greg Daniels wrote for the Simpsons
Every time I see this clip I have to wonder what is wrong with that woman’s face
