Interesting new rule. I knew about the pitch timer, but not this. I’ll be curious to see an analysis at a larger scale once the season is further along.
Making Baseball more interesting. Higher scores, more running, more bases. All better for the game. I heard/read they are doing something else, too, to change the game to make it more interesting. I think they started to see number drop due to the “cell phone” age group not even caring about this slow sport.
Thank goodness. Last season was borderline unwatchable. I was at a wild card game that took 6 hours because of bullpen pitchers taking 11 minutes to throw two pitches. Glad to see they’re speeding them up, and also getting rid of the shift. Should’ve been done sooner.
the shift absolutely sucked and i am glad it’s gone. very happy with these changes. people want to see the ball in play. they want to see guys on base. watching a 4 hour nine inning game with a zillion strikeouts/walks or homeruns was boring af.
Go ‘Stros!

I like baseball but don’t follow it well enough. Much more casually. Can someone explain to me what’s changed?
Is it to difficult for a pro player to hit it to the left

Is the shift rule only for infield? How soon until the right fielder comes in, center and left shift over and the third basemen drops back
Doesn’t this just drastically increase the value of left handed hitters?
If they’re banning the shift, why not also remove the Shortstop?

Anyone got stats on the batting average increase seen by those with a high shift rate previously?
