Soccer fans are some of the dumbest in the world lol
Is this a soccer team or a political coup?
Context?
Am I missing something? What happened to prompt this? Haven’t seen a post on r/soccer about it
During the match, players Bruno Mendez (Corinthians) and Bruno Alves (Gremio) received red cards. Early in the game, controversy arose over a tackle on Corinthians’ Matheus Bidu by João Pedro, which was not penalized even after VAR review, causing anger among the Corinthians team. At half-time, Corinthians’ Director of Football and others tried to forcibly enter the VAR room, leading to a confrontation. Despite the incident, Corinthians won 1-0 with a goal from Ángel Romero.
Edit:

There is NO fighting in the VAR room!
I almost never say this about anything, but I think this league needs more rules.
Nike
So what was the plan if they actually got in the room? Gonna assault some refs? Gonna break some shit? Give them the ol ear full?
Brazil is a weird place regarding sports and I say that as a fully aware American knowing the US is a weird place in general.
So If this was Corinthian staff what consequences did they receive? Or what will they receive if it hasn’t happened yet?
Corinthians has bad fame for being benefited by referees, VAR, controversial situations… It’s funny to watch how aggressive they become when it happens against them
Why would anyone want to officiate for this shit?
Over a soccer game. What a bunch of losers
Sad for VAR, it’s a good tech operated by corrupt monkeys
Wanna know the best part?
That room only stores VAR networking equipment.
The VAR officials were more than 1000km away, in Rio.
They should stick to leather…
The thing is: that is only the room that has the equipment to send information to the VAR Base in Rio, so they failed big time
I only know them for their fine leather
I don’t know what 50% of this title means.
Hopefully these guys are banned from the sport after this
It’s a game, you damn grown ups.
My son just started an indoor soccer league for the winter season, and the amount of shouting that some dads do is unbelievable. It’s indoors and so their voices are heard from literally across the building on other fields.
And, this was for a U7 game. A freaking U7 recreational game. Your kids aren’t going to improve because you’re shouting at them and the refs. Fools. Their behavior probably mirrors how it’s like to live in the same house as them.
Maybe Paul needs to write them another letter
“Fútbol es para simios,” they say.
It’s the level from Max Payne 3 in IRL.
What are they hoping to accomplish here. What kind of piece of shit league would allow this kind of activity from a clubs executives
I like the sport but damn some soccer players are soft, dramatic little bitches.
Can someone share the link to the football match in question, and which decision var took that Corinthians were unhappy with?
Soccer is such an unhinged sport with the people involved
So sad to see the Corinthians fall so far. They’ve always been such a pillar of the sport
Lol imagine being so dumb you get mad at someone filming you in a place that is almost certainly covered by security cameras. Yeah man, knock that phone out his had and the alert status of the guards goes away like a fucking video game lol
Also the dude aggressivly advancing while holding his arms wide as if he’s not being the aggressor is peak asshole behavior.
For those inquiring, VAR is Video Assistant Referee. Video reply to help verify a call, goal, etc.
Corinthians (Sport Club Corinthians Paulista) is a Brazilian professional sports club based in São Paulo. Although it competes in multiple sports modalities, it is best known for its professional men’s football team, which plays in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, the top tier of Brazilian football, as well as in the Campeonato Paulista Série A1, the first division of the traditional in-state competition.
Okay, I feel like this is an obvious question, but this is like… fucking insane, right? Like, completely fucking unhinged and stupid?
Am I missing something? Like, seriously, what the fuck?
Absolutely massive points deduction should be the penalty for this.
Its a game and you are supposed to be grown ass men, Jesus h christ.
I’m surprised none of them fell over grabbing their ankles with such a violent confrontation
Gentlemen you can’t fight in here, this is the VAR room!
“*This raid sponsored by Nike.*”
“Just do it.”
If this is how the “elites” in brazil act, no wonder the country is a shithole
