sorry if this isn’t the right place to post this, I’m not too familiar with TV specs but I’d like to upgrade my screen for black friday. The TV I’m using now was probably great in its day but I bought it used off a co-worker who flips storage units. I’m playing on a PS5 and in the options menus of most games I can’t turn on HDR because my TV doesn’t support it. So I’m sure the TV I’m using is not delivering the best experience that my PS5 is trying to push out. Although it’s still a *huge* update from the Switch I’ve been playing on. I’ll attach a photo of the label of my current TV but I’m hoping to find something better without going over $500 (ideally around 40″-50″) I know I prob won’t get something over 60htz refresh rate, I’m ok with that if I gotta drop more than $500 then I just keeping this TV and buying PSVR2.

I run my series x on a €300 samsung (47″) and it looks beautiful with HDR. If HDR and 4k are your only demands you will find a great deal under 500.
Pro tip – avoid anything that says smart TV and safe yourself hundreads of buckaroos.
HDR is a myth. Actual hdr tvs are thousands of dollars so beware of this
Buy PSVR2. Anything not near $1000 is not worth the money.
PSVR2 complete sets are on eBay for ~$350. I paid $250 for my original PSVR on some crazy sale in 2018, so I can’t go $600 for its successor. Buy one in good shape and clean it up with some Lysol wipes if the “used” thing bothers you. Just a thought.
I have a 75” Sony 950. It’s Dolby vision and hdr will make your eyes hurt. It was $2k. It has a full array led panel (lighting only sections that are needed so you get better blacks and brighter lights). My gaming tv is a 50” HiSense with a full array led, it cost $400 on a summer sale. They are both excellent for gaming and hdr, etc. the Hisense picture and brightness quality comes to 85-90% of the Sony, but it is more prone to artifact in low light scenes. The full array led is a game changer if you don’t have OLED money.
There’s an LG OLED on Best buy for $550. It’s only 46 inches.
A word of caution though, you’ll never like any other TV again.
