Looks interesting. I’ll give it a shot. I don’t particularly understand why they casted a professional boxer with little acting ability to star in this tho.
The premise is cool, but this trailer didnt really get my hyped. But that could have little connection with how the series actually pans out. I also dont know who this lady is starring opposite Jodie, but I already don’t like her character lol
It’s certainly not how I imagine a True Detective trailer to be, nor do I expect this show to be anything like Pizzolato’s True Detective. They’re trying to replicate the tone from seasons 1 & 2 and might do that to a certain point, but the dialogues and the acting are definitely not of the same nature. Having said that, given that this seems to be a new direction, I’m hoping that it’s got a good intriguing story
I know this isn’t the point of the trailer, but don’t piercings get uncomfortable in freezing temperatures? Because of the metal conducting the cold. I was distracted imagining that cold in my cheeks.
I like how they use the enviroment. Like x files season 1-5 or True detective season 1. I think we humans have something deep down that connects us with the creepiness of nature.
Honestly I don’t think it looks that great, I also think this should’ve just been it’s own new hbo detective show starring Jodie, for better or worse it’s not really true detective without Nic. Lastly I do not want them trying to connect with anything from past seasons especially the first. None of the people involved in that are involved in this and it would just seem like a cheap attempt to get attention. I really think they just put the true detective name on this to attract viewers because that name Carries weight but this should just been a new hbo miniseries imo. If it’s good I’ll definitely watch but just wish this was its own thing
I am optimistic this will be close to Season 1 in terms of character development, cast and story. Hoping its as far away from Season 2 as possible for the same reasons mentioned lol
I love the setting here. The idea of places that stay dark or light for days at a time weird me out. I also enjoy watching youtube videos about life in some of these remote towns. Setting wise this looks like it will be appealing just on its own.
I hope they don’t go as high concept with the writing as season 2.

Yup I love the mood and setting of this. Hope it has all the elements we loved from S1, fingers crossed!
Should be an interesting winter watch anyway!
it’s impressive how every line managed to be more cliche than the last for the dialogue here.
guess I’ll watch and see
Keen to see Issa López inject Tigers Are Not Afraid horror energy into this. Bring it right back close to Season 1 territory.
This looks like it could be really fucking good. Love long night Alaskan setting!

Is there a date yet
Does each season of True Detective standalone?

I hope it just doesn’t turn out to be paranormal/supernatural.
oh fuck me. i had no idea this was even a thing.
looks great!
It’s giving 30 days of night meets the outsider meets true detective
Real “Hold the Dark” energy and I’m 100% down.
Well that is a way better trailer than the first one
Damn looks like it might give season 1 and 3 a run for it’s money. I can already feel the chemistry between the main actresses.
M-m-m-Marva!
This looks like a disney-fied version of True Detective
Time is a flat circle
All the upvotes to whoever edits Dickbutt to be the symbol on the paper.
It’s Dexter

Looks like it is going to be bad

So its a more serious Fargo(film)?
It has the vibe of the first season which I really dig. The atmosphere, color grading, and connection between the two main characters seem terrific.
Can’t wait
30 days of night was such a good movie
I’m glad the series is continuing. I hoe my cousin Kali knocks it out of the park!

I already saw Fargo.

I do expect this will be a polarizing season.
