no comparison of carbon footprint? typical florida
17 minute video. Train takes 4hr25m and plane takes 3hr45 min. Train is cheaper and more comfortable.
A cursory look at google maps says driving is faster than both.
Try it again with Miami to Chicago.
This is a weird video to watch. I’m not totally sure if it is a parody of some kind. Maybe it is just the guy’s voice, face, and smile, but everything comes across drenched in sarcasm.
Also, as someone in the UK, I appreciate 125mph is fast in the US but that has been my intercity train speed since ’97. When I travel to certain countries in mainland Europe and parts of Asia I feel a little embarrassed how slow it is in comparison to what they have as standard, however, I would love that train pricing here for a 4hr+ journey. Those road traffic crossings he mentioned seem unnecessarily dangerous to save money for such a fast travelling train. Security like that at a regular train station is unheard of here. Lounges just seem another way to make it seem high class and to take your money.
From the European perspective that train is still just way too expensive. A train ride from Miami to Orlando should cost more like 20-30$ at most.
Sounds like a Top Gear race
