Fun Fact, the Recording Academy prohibits the resale of a Grammy – as soon as the statuette is given, it drops from about $15 to $0.
Similarly an Oscar that is won can only be sold for $1 or less – unless you first offer it BACK to the Academy and they turn it down (which they rarely do).
My dad did the singing voice of Homer in this episode!!
The Be-Sharps.
My dad won the International Barbershop Quartet Singing contest in 1985.
He was contacted by the production company and got 3 other buddies of his to sing all 4 parts. He attended the 100th episode party, was given a Simpsons robe that I still wear to this day!
They even asked him for some insights into the world of barbershop and some ideas made it into the episode.
To this day he gets royalty checks maybe once a year (only about (.16 cents) but its an incredible story to tell.
He’s been in many tv shows for singing. Appeared on late night shows, award shows.
I often call him the most famous non famous person.
Don’t throw your garbage down here!
As somebody that knows nothing about awards… Is Grammy that bad?
Solid jokes all around
This has Bojack Horseman vibes
Homer: Lisa, did you see the Grammys?
Lisa: You beat Dexy’s Midnight Runners!
Homer: Well, you haven’t heard the last of them.
That teenager/puberty voice is so iconic.

Huh, I heard that theme before.. in Band of Brothers
Are the Grammies poorly thought of?
People think the Grammy’s are awards based on quality of music but its more about records sold and mudpies.
In another nutshell.
Even with the sound off, I can hear this gif.
