It’s like the kind of thing you’d see in an EA Skate game and think “That’s too unrealistic” but there goes Tony doing his thing and making it reality.
it’s a big of a trip, but it looks like his head could essentially stay in the same spot and his whole body just revolves around the tip of his nose.
i remember this when it was posted here and all over reddit 7 fucking years ago and it got 43 million fucking views. Jesus christ this isnt repost porn twitter
His perseverence is really inspiring. If Tony Hawk can push through those brutal spills to success, there’s no good reason for you to ever give up on a difficult hobby just because you keep sucking at it or makes you slightly uncomfortable. I’m talking to you, *man in the mirror.*
Imagine the guys who built that, the engineering and construction and labour and cutting all that wood making sure it’s perfect and smooth enough for skateboard wheels. And then Tony stomps it in like 8 tries? Lol “ok boys, we’re done tear it down now!”
I love that he shows his learning and progress and trial and error getting to the success. That he shows that even for a master of his craft, he still has to practice the trick a bunch and learn from every unsuccessful run. It honestly makes seeing him pull it off even cooler for me than if the success was all we saw.
It looks like, if they would have allowed the exit to extend away instead of back into the mail half pipe, it would have made it much easier for him.
The problem with that is that it would have required a rebuild of the rest of the half-pipe to accommodate it and him exiting out under the structure instead of back into it.

That guy looks just like Tony Hawk, skates like him too.

This made me miss Fantasy Factory.
As some who’s stood on a skateboard, it blows my mind how how good he is to do that.
But why the fuck not wear some hockey pants or something?

I wanna skate you like an animal
They should’ve used this [song from the Downward Spiral](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHPkJkBS1vE) in the video.

So he tried “my life”?
But can he do a kickflip?
Trent Reznor would be proud of you Tony. \m/
As a side note, I just want to say that I respect the fuck out of Hawk for (AFAIK) always donning helmet and pads throughout all these years.
I think Tony Hawk and Todd Howard must be related

This old man got better knees than me, that’s gotta be some strong pressure lol
if this was twice as big would it be way easier to ride? Seems like the tight centrifugal force changing is what’s buckling knees

That hip wound looked really nasty. Wonder how long it took to heal. Props to the Hawk, he gives me hope that things aren’t over until they’re over.
Still a legend.

This guy is so inspiring.
“I had intense anxiety for two days straight.”
nearly pulls it off perfectly on his 9th try, lol.

I bet some 12 year old Japanese skater would pull it off on their first attempt…
