Such a fun game!! I’m jealous of you. I played control first then thus. Maybe not as great as control, but really dang fun!

Alan Wake is pretty good. I enjoyed the Control gameplay more, but Alan Wake has a better story. Control’s is kind of incomprehensible.
Play it in the dark.

I hope you enjoy it. I tried a few times to get into Alan Wake, only finishing it this year. If you get through the story, open up the chapter select on the main menu and you should find some extra chapters unlocked—I enjoyed these the most!
Don’t believe the game when it tells you light areas are safe.
Great meta fiction writing, tense atmosphere. Underrated.
Try to find every episode of Night Springs! Good stuff. The landscapes are beautifully accurate to the Pacific Northwest. I get nostalgic playing it.

Absolutely gorgeous game with actually disturbing background and gameplay.
I strongly suggest you to play Control with the Alan Wake DLC right after that. The games are linked and set in the same universe.

People are gonna downvote me to hell, but I played it for the first time 2 years ago and thought it was a little overrated by the community. I loved the ideas of the game, just the execution was kinda outdated. (and i often play games much older than this)

I remember playing the game early really not expecting to like it, but played it non stop and ended up buying/100%ing a couple versions when there were good sales over the years.

Played the og version on my deck. I had a great time.
I hope the new one uses LED flashlights. They last WAY longer.
Enjoy getting the soundtrack stuck in your head. They did a great job with their picks. I still listen to Anomie Bell every once in awhile for that triphop chill feeling.
