If they can manage to pull this off, I will give them kudos to the ends of the Earth. But for the life of me, I cannot figure out how the hell they are going to have this massive universe that isn’t just 99% empty space.
Edit: for the people justifying things by saying the real universe is large and empty, this is not an excuse for the excessively large worlds and long travel times between objectives for arbitrary reasons. I hope they can pull it off in a good way but I’m skeptical about it for good reason.
It looks phenomenal for Xbox and PC gamers. I wish it was coming to Playstation but I have to give props and respect to that exclusivity. Good on you guys! That’s awesome. Gives more creative experimentation and new titles being made.
The planet is a backdrop, it’s quite literally a skybox. Yes you could go there, but not after a few loading screens. It’s not like No Man’s Sky where the planet is there, allowing you to travel seamlessly from surface to space then down to the orbiting moon’s surface.
Edit: This is especially true since there’s no in-atmosphere flight, you go from walking on the surface (which is a confined area, btw) to your ship which is just a loading screen to space (another confined area) which then allows you to choose to go to another planet.
What did he do?
This was already possible in Zelda – BOTW to go whatever you see. And planet wise it was possible in no mans sky.
Better hope that there is anything to do ON these planets. There is no value in having everywhere to go if everyhwere you go is nothing but emptiness.
“It just works”
So No Man’s Sky?
16x
Is that even true? Is the planet actually right there because there’s a loading screen between landing and takeoff.

No man’s sky did this years ago everyone relax
This reminds me of star citizen
Seamlessly or with loading screens though…?
This is space skyrim right? Do we have a release date yet?
This reminds me of Peter Molyneux
You can go there… when we release the Legendary Edition. Second moon comes with SE.
No man’s sky and outer wilds already done it, it’s best space games ever!
It also looks way better visually than the last gameplay reveal. Starfield’s graphics and lightning actually looks gorgeous now.
Starfield looks like if Mass Effect had a baby with Skyrim, Fallout and Star Wars with next-gen graphics and become a massive sandbox open world RPG.
It looks absolutely insane in scope, and visually stunning too. It looks like my dream game, and I’m hyped af now.
I wonder how empty the 1000 planets and moons will be.
Don’t forget fallout 76. Just saying.
You can go there*
* in expansion pack for 2025
I was impressed by the scope of it, but it’s still bethesda
just a little [reminder](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjyeCdd-dl8) why you shouldn’t get to excited for starfield
Thanks Todd No Man’s Sky did it years ago
Ngl I was sceptical at the beginning but the game looks amazing! Cant wait for it to go on sale and buy it on PC!
Gotta admit, it looks pretty cool so far! When I saw the guy playing board a vessel, kill the crew and take the ship…damn!

Ok yes but it is a backdrop because your take off is a loading screen. Star citizen is the game you can just go there in one solid motion.
“I mean, it’s just a single exterior cell and you have to transition there via a loading screen, but you can totally go there.”
This has been done in other games before, so it sounds plausible.
Add this on skyrim. Quests to the moon!
its just No Mans Sky meets Bethesda.
Todd “Sweet Little Lies” Howard
Hey I’ve seen this one before!
Let’s see how big of a lie this is
“16x the detail!”
Wait, isn’t this actually a lie?

I’m excited for starfield after their showcase. But I’m sad that landing a ship on a planet is just a click land here and a cutscene.
