Today is the tenth anniversary of “The Name of the Doctor”, a very important episode in the history of “Doctor Who”. This is the final scene of the episode.

Is there any new series coming in this? That female Doctor Who was unpopular (but I liked it since I have watched only that) and looks like new Doctor is not chosen yet
Literally watching ‘Let’s Kill Hitler’ right now, my favorite rewatching binge show..
Hurt also did twelve audio dramas for Big Finish as the War Doctor before his death in 2017; he was great in all of them.
I loved the lead-up to that episode, all the speculation on tumblr about what the Doctor’s name was, me being tiny group of people saying “I’m sure it’s not literally referring to him being named Paul or something”.
Probably one of my favourite fake outs ever. I’m pretty sure he wrote this final scene first then worked backwards to construct a story about his name.
Crazy how he never got brought up again once Moffat was gone.
I imagine we’re probably not gonna get any acknowledgment of the Fugitive Doctor in the new RTD era either
I can’t believe they just went and revealed that the Doctor’s name had been John Hurt this whole time!
It’s scary this was a decade ago. Feels like just a couple of years ago I was a kid racing home to watch this.
