Wing Commander 1 and 2 were iconic. I never see anyone me tioning them anymore.
Wow. Blast from the past. I played this and loved it. That music brings me right back. It was a difficult game but once you got the hang of it the game was super fun.
WOW!! What a huge memory dump this was, thank you. I played the shit out of his game and loved every second of it. This was when graphics were finally starting to be legit decent in the days of 66mhz 486s…
The movie was pretty good too.
Man those sound effects take me back.
How was PC sound so bad years after nintendo and others had super musical and melodic sound tracks?
Star Citizen, OTOH…
Loved this game. Really pushed the envelope for PC gaming back in 1990 .. Think I had a 286/16Mhz back then..
That Roberts guy should make another space game.
WC3 on a Soundblaster AWE32, cinema sound all of a sudden.. epic !
WC4, the dragon fighter with a wingman extreme and thrust control.. a gem of a game !
I think i switched from a 486 to a Pentium 90 back then. Pentium 100 (MHz) was about 1996 in my region.
I played the crap out of privateer. Really cool game.
Oo….I had that on the Amiga. I hated playing with that guy…Maniac (?) as wingman. 🙂
I remember my father spent 250 bucks on this awesome thing called a soundcard (which allowed for more than just bleep and bloop sounds) for our state-of-the-art IBM PS/2, for this game on release.
I heard the music played during the cutscene while you’re running to the airlock.. “dun du dundundun DUN DUN DUN..”
Y’all don’t even know.
The run from your mission briefing to the ship (especially when you were given a new type to fly) was so damn exciting.
