I’ve been moving a package about 30 feet for an elephant that’s easily 10x my size. It doesn’t make sense why they need a god-killing hero of the entire star to do that, but hey someone’s got to do it.

So true but I’m just here having been addicted to gold saucer for several weeks to the point of leaving only once just recently to actually do some quests (the other comment was on my alt I forget clicking notifications forces you to other acc)
When they introduced fishing to Guild Wars 2 it was like it was made for me. More money than all the other farming methods that people use to make gold, much more fun and it basically funded all of my expensive stuff that I had never really gotten around to just because it’s so expensive for a casual.
And then they kicked that farming method in the dick and cut profits by like 40%. From what I’ve seen it’s now around 20% worse than it was when I left, but I haven’t gone back to the game yet. That annoyed me too much.
The true endgame of MMOs is fashion and fishing, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. It isnt the same if you cant live out the fantasy of being a mighty warrior risen from the muck who fights their way to greatness before punching God to death and retiring to the ass-end of nowhere to fish while wearing immaculate drip. Then, after many years, the call to adventure rings out once again when the new expansion drops, so I begrudgingly dust off my legendary sword before saying, “I’m too damn old for this” and go punch God 2.0 to death.
In FFXI you had to catch 10,000 moat carp to get a bad ass fishing rod (Lu Shang Rod I think?). I was living and dreaming moat carp for a couple of months, that shit became an obsession.
My friends: ff14 has such a good story how could you skip every cutscene? Also just wait til you’re at end game it’ll pickup and be more fun.
Me: Sits in the diadem with fake beard pretending that times works differently and I’ve been there for 40 years diadem time.
Lizards gotta eat.
Or in my case, my ~~owner~~ Viera wife’s gotta make raid food.
and now Destiny 2 as well. I hate it.
Gwent player can relate.
Fishing is relaxing from very busy day of doing quest and saving the universe
If they ever overhaul the combat so that healers can actually just be healers, i’d love to play this game. the world looks really cool.
I’ve never played XIV but XV has some amazing fishing gameplay. Wonder how it compares and if they’ll bring it back for XVI
I have a physical aversion to this art style.

I desperately want to play this game, but I have the following issues:
I’d have to play solo as I have no friends who would play it, and couldn’t commit to a clan or anything like that due to time constraints.
I would only manage to clock about 3 – 4 hours per week, which is tiny for an MMO, so I figure my progress would be glacial.
I’d have to play on PS5, and the idea of trying to navigate an MMO UI with a controller seems insane to me.
Edit: Well fuck. Everyone’s comments are giving me confidence I could probably manage it now 😅
Might have to dip my toes.
Yep, i remember FFXI sitting there catching moat carp for months just to get that goddamn rod
Heh. I’m pretty sure I spend more time shopping for armor in bannerlord than I do actually fighting.
I just want the “World Class Troller” title that FF14 gives you for no-lifing fishing.
Good to see you still making stuff after the foxhole shenanigans!
I’m currently playing 14 for the first time, im up to level 20 in the storyline……
I have a level 33 lancer as my main. A 30 conjure as alt. All other classes are level 15 minimum
All craters……level 45 minimum
All gathers …..level 45 minimum
I think I may have got sidetracked from the story
Gathering/crafting is honestly the most fun you can have in an MMO.
I used to play the shit out of SWG growing up and to this day they still have one of the best crafting systems ever conceived.
I watched a video that was almost an hour on someone eating like a million eggs in FFXIV I don’t know what that says about me.
When I was a kid my dad had a FF game. I dunno which one, but I never left the start area. I just played the card game.
Fish city bitch, fish fish city bitch
Bait bait bait hooks on your titties bitch
r/DestinyTheGame enters the chat…
Don’t know why, but the double “we in fish city today” is funny
Destiny players right now.
Dude except for the new Zelda……. I’m hoping one of these years……
Fish City, population: Insane RNG maniacs who reek of fish.
Good people
Another round of Gwent?
Me playing sea of thieves.

Holy shit I really didn’t think I’d see Cev ever again. Hope you’re doing well gamer
I’m bummed they never added fishing to the new Zelda.
In my last session of dnd, we went fishing instead of taking a monster hunting quest.
To be fair, you do both of those things
Player: “So, how do you get Excalibur on FFXI?”
Dev: Get an Ultra rare fish by fishing in a specific spot with a certain time and RNG drop rate

This but Choco Racing. I have a P5 and just got to Ishgard……
That is me in Guild Wars 2: riding around in my skiff and fishing.

Sage, nice! Same!
Basically me after i retired from raiding in FFXIV. All i did was fish and play triple triad.
