Just watching the trailer is making me feel claustrophobic.
This film apparently had the highest audience test scores in MGM’s history. They had moved its release date to awards season, but after the Amazon acquisition of MGM, it was moved back to the summer for whatever reason.
Wow , Joel Edgerton, Colin Farrell and Viggo Mortensen.
I remember when it went down so I know the story but those three are so awesome, so I will be checking this out!
The Rescue is a fantastic documentary about this. Available on Disney+. Watching the trailer for the dramatisation feels jarring.
Looks really good, I think Ron Howard excells at making small space thrillers like these.
It’s going to be a tall order for this to match the compelling account of the story we’ve already had with The Rescue.
So who gets to play the egotistical billionaire?
Ron Howard excels at “based on true story” movies. This one looks no different.
it looks pretty good and the main cast seems solid.
Wonder if they’ll mention a certain snotty rich billionaire calling one of them a pedo. I have a feeling they’ll avoid that aspect to prevent a lawsuit.
Leave it to Ron Howard to make a movie with no visual energy.

The documentary that came out earlier this year is incredible.

I take it they’re not going to have the part where Elon Musk accuse the British diver of being a pedo?
If anyone doesn’t know, there was a documentary last year from National Geographic about this. It was one of the most nail biting and stressful docs I had ever watched since Free Solo. It’s available on Disney Plus.

Viggo’s accent actually sounds kinda decent in some parts but in other scenes, it sounds a tad too close to an Aussie accent.
I have absolutely no interest at all in watching this film.
This actually looks good and not overdramaticized. If you’ve seen The Rescue, this actually looks like the people who were there are also involved.

Bald Viggo Mortensen doing some pretty damn impressive accent work here

Don’t spoil the ending for me
The documentary was great. Will watch this as well for sure the great actors they got for the film.
