They got a tree for their really old cat Garfield. He never climbed on anything, we never thought much of it. Turns out he is the only cat I ever seen have the shakes in high places.

Awww poor baby is afraid of heights ❤️
Scardy cat
Domestic cars are from desert dwelling ancestors. Their paws and ankles are not built for climbing trees, unlike the Margay Wild cat whose ancestors can turn 180 degrees outwards.
I don’t think it’s so much that the cat is afraid of heights as it is that the tree is off balance and the cat is trying to balance but the base is not sturdy/steady.
Had to change a tree because of that.
That cat tower looks unsteady as hell. Base appears WAY too narrow for an active cat- seen cats topple those just leaping from the top. Not necessarily the cat doing the shaking, but if you sent me down on top of something as unstable as Charles Manson, I’d probably start shaking too
Cat’s tail is raised, i dont think he’s scared
Is that a yinzer accent?
Poor baby, but i love that he is getting pets to calm down.
He will not try that again, I’m sure
He’s trying to balance. That cat tree is too small and unstable for his size. My cat is his size and the tree we got him that was rated for his size is much beefier.
Poor fur baby 🙁
Was that dude about to say the cats 19 years old?
Feed him lasagna (don’t)
He looks unsteady, not scared. Scared cats would be looking over the edge with a worried look, maybe making whimpy needy meows with a begging look or trying to step down nervously. He seems emotionally secure.
He’s a big and bulky cat and it’s a little tree.
Looks like he has hip problems with that half sit he is doing.
They sound Minnesotan to me…that effortless “he just caant baalance properly” maybe upper Sconnie
That is likely caused by muscle atrophy not being nervous.
My cat did this when I first got his tree. They’re just trying to balance and they should get used to it but if not I would get another one that has a larger base!
His right ear is just the cutest thing ever
He is not visibly shaking, the tree is. This has happened to me before with other cat trees. You put a big boi on that small tree and it’s not going to be stable.
He’s got the lasagna shakes! It’s not the cat tree. He just over-ate.
My cats Abt that size and she has a cat tree as tall as I am 6’2 and it’s beefy enough that I can’t even shake it
Looks to me like the base is unstable and they’re just trying to balance
Do you trim your cat’s nails?
