>A beloved Roald Dahl story about a rich man who learns about a guru who can see without using his eyes and then sets out to master the skill in order to cheat at gambling. Only on Netflix September 27.
This looks delightful!
Is the story of the guy who invented salt ?
Would to see Wes Anderson make a horror or thriller movie. Something out of his comfort zone.
I think that Wes Anderson has been running at full power lately, French Dispatch and Asteroid City were terrific and way more willing to play with pomo elements than most films. I expect he’ll probably reel it in a bit for a netflix short but still super excited to see
Bruh this looks way better than I actually expected.
Did I miss the fact that he’s doing four movies vs. just the one?!
[“The project hits Netflix on Sept. 27 as one of four short films from the director that are based on author Roald Dahl’s work and will launch on the streaming platform throughout the final week of this month. Anderson’s other three shorts are The Swan (hitting Netflix on Sept. 28), The Ratcatcher (Sept. 29) and Poison (Sept. 30).”](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/wonderful-story-of-henry-sugar-trailer-wes-anderson-roald-dahl-netflix-1235590594/)
Two Wes Anderson proyects in one year, I’ll take it.
I’ll never understand the artist who only does the same thing over and over.

looks more likeable than asteriod city
Why isn’t this affected by the strikes? Was it made before or are they all scabs?
Ugh. More stylized, washed out Wes Anderson silliness.
Meh, I’m just over it after Asteroid City…
Any movie poster with Benedict alway just kinda looks exactly the same. It’s just him in different clothing.
I know that’s obvious but it sticks out to me with him.
I wish I was smart enough to understand Wes Anderson movies. I just don’t get it. It’s like he takes really really good actors and says “read these lines in the most monotone way possible” and poof it’s a Wes Anderson movie.
I love how Netflix takes ownership of Author and Director’s works. “A Neflix film…” Ugh.
I was excited when I first heard they were making some of the stories from this book into short films, but pretty meh when I heard it would be Wes Anderson. To each their own I guess
If you know and love this story I think that you will (like me) appreciate how they are trying to bring Dahl’s voice to life with a hybrid stage-cinema approach that really suits Anderson’s directing style.
I don’t remember who said it, but every time I see Benedict Cumberbatch appear in a movie, I cannot see him as a character, only ever as Benedict Cumberbatch in a costume.
I’m thinking, if this isn’t a Wes Anderson film, someone needs to be sued, then his name pops up of course.
This is going to sound insane, but it feels like I have willed 3 projects into existence this year. I have been evangelizing all of these to my friends FOR YEARS. However the Monkey’s Paw dictated that they all be… slightly not what I hoped for:
1. Wished for a Cillian Murphy Oppenheimer biopic (not based on American Prometheus)
2. Wished for a Fall of the House of Usher adaptation (from Ari Aster, not Mike Flanagan)
3. And now, wished for a Wes Anderson collection of short story adaptations (but Nine Stories by JD Salinger, not Roald Dahl)
Anyone else want to utilize my off-kilter witchery to manifest any movies?? It most definitely won’t be what you asked for, but almost!
Sherlock was just deadpan delivery practice for Cumberbatch’s eventual Wes Anderson debut
