The Velvet Underground, 1967

  • The Velvet Underground and Nico, circa 1966-67. Left to right: guitarist Sterling Morrison, guitarist/vocalist: Lou Reed, vocalist Nico, drummer Maureen (Mo) Tucker, and bassist/keyboardist/violist John Cale.

  • Nico was a lot like Kanye.

Her father was a Spaniard who died in a nazi concentration camp. Her mother was Yugoslavian. Nico was orphaned and, despite her actual parents, she grew up in Germany to become a very dark hearted Nazi.

She believed she was intellectually, creatively and physically superior to other races. She would often talk about “the Jews”. Once she stabbed a black woman in the face after shouting “I hate black people”.
