*“Man, the Jedi sure are uptight, maybe the Sith have a point? Wait a minute, these guys are literally the worst people ever! If only there was something in between…”*
*– every Star Wars narrative that even attempts to be morally complex*
If the second frame would be true, then Sith would be the best magic-shmagic ever: it takes so little as just kicking puppies to become stronger. Can you ask more?
“Hope you enjoy power for power’s sake because you’ll be sacrificing everything for it, including the reason you wanted to be stronger in the first place. (assuming it was any different)” – the sith, basically
What doesn’t make sense is why there aren’t simply dark side Jedi as loyal members of the order. If Quigonn can go against Yoda and ask Obiwan to train Anakin, and Anakin can be engaged in a relationship as a poorly-kept secret, and Luke can tap into his emotions to defeat Vader without becoming the Emperor’s mindslave or something… I just don’t see why Random Jedi X couldn’t be a dark side wielder without betraying the Republic and Jedi Order to the puppy kickers.
Honestly? The Jedi are a really messed up cult that uses child soldiers and claims to fight slavery while growing indoctrinated slaves, meanwhile the Sith are a bunch of power hungry lunatics with a superiority complex and megalomaniac schemes. Fuck both sides.
Sigh, this is why we need a property with a more nuanced form of the Sith that aren’t just “evil”. I mean, we have Princess Leia who literally embodies the Sith code but I mean someone who actually identifies as Sith.
It’s like they got to make them smart evil to have become as powerful as they are. But then make them comically bad guys to remind you not to cheer for them either.
Star wars fans got nothing on Harry Potter fans defending Slytherin. People on Harry Potter subs react to Slytherin jokes like racist jokes. Presumably because they took a Facebook quiz that said they are one
Dooku left the Jedi order for serious ideological issues. This left him open to be radicalized by Palpatine. Imo, Dooku was never a true Sith. He was always a placeholder. Yes, he did enjoy the power and was indeed a brutal man, but he wasn’t just in it for the power. He’s actually a very interesting character in that regard.
Chaos – are just people rebelling against the oppressive tyranny of the Imperium, the lies of the Emperor, and the hypocritical attempt to enslave the galaxy… though.. in practice.. okay yes, Chaos does genocide billions of people in planetary purges, worship literal sadistic flesh eating gods, corruption, and violence.. and their worshippers do slowly corrupt into twisted demonic mockeries of the human form.
Ironically, the empire was actually a very good peacekeeping force, it just used some questionable methods to keep said peace. This is one of the main reasons stormtroopers always missed, because they didn’t want to have to kill people. Also, you can tell by the empires fleet of starships that it isn’t meant for war. Their main fighters are unshielded and unprotected, while the rebels have shielded starfighters meant for combat.
The Sith ***literally*** feed off pain, misery, anger, and all the negative emotions. To get stronger, they indulge in feeling dark-side feelings, which in turn strengthens their link to the Dark Side.
Of course they’d be drama queens and self-important narcissists. George Lucas wasnt writing elegant tyrants who do evil for the greater good, or something. They’re literally evil drama queens who do evil shit because pain, suffering, anger and rage MAKE them stronger.
Any time a Sith says ‘There will be peace’? He’s lying. That dude wants shit to happen. That motherfucker isnt gonna go to a fucking garden and plant fruit trees and smell the flowers.
“Have you not checked out the Sith?! Haven’t you read those dozens of dimestore novels published between 1990-2005, where fanboys call themselves authors and write about how Darth Bane could impregnate a thousand virgins with his *mind*? And one of the Sith had a ship 100 miles long and with a million turbolasers?”
Joking aside, the “Legends”-stuff about the early Sith actually being a race, was pretty neat. Naga Sadow, Marka Ragnos, Ludo Kressh, all nice megalomaniacs of their time.
Can we agree neither the sith nor the jedi order are actually good? The jedi are equivalent to crazy religious zealots and the sith fight such tyranny with more tyranny, heck the sith even fight themselves rule of 2 and all.
I always thought it was kinda lame that (officially) the only way you could use the force as a tool was to either completely suppress your emotions like the Jedi or completely give into them like the Sith. No middle ground, no learning to apply anger to fight injustice or using fear to fuel determination or courage, just one extreme end of the scale or the other.

If you like my comics, I’ve got more on [my website](https://www.butajape.com/comic/the-sith-are-terrible/).

Nah the Jedi’s do be lying though
“Only Siths speak in absolutes”
Really bro, only Siths 🥴😒
Booo! r/Empiredidnothingwrong

The second panel is essentially playing a dark side character in KOTOR; you are incentivized to commit random acts of douchebaggery to max your DSP.
Not “chaotic evil” so much as “chaotic jackass”

Jedi – religious order that takes in outcasts and teaches them to master physics bending powers
Sith – live for war, murder, and they all die in gruesome betrayals
Star Wars fans – “There must be a middle path.”
It’s like they got to make them smart evil to have become as powerful as they are. But then make them comically bad guys to remind you not to cheer for them either.
Dew it.
I think the irony here is my gut immediatly made me have the reaction of going “well actually”, and then I realised I just played myself haha
The jedi cult strives for the impossible. They want peace by having a populace of emotionless robots. They deny reality. Their creed:
There is no emotion, there is peace.
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.
There is no passion, there is serenity.
There is no chaos, there is harmony.
There is no death, there is the Force.
The sith believe in personal liberty and freedom. Their creed:
Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion I gain strength.
Through strength I gain power.
Through power I gain victory.
Through victory my chains are broken.
The force shall set me free.
That’s actually how Doomsday from Superman gets created. He’s the abused puppy who gets stronger…and eventually “kills” Superman
Is not die much that the Sith have cogent points, it’s that the Jedi at the end of the republic sucked enough we’ve slowly lost our sympathy for them
So you are saying Sith are like the Spartans? Darth Chief is gonna be awesome
Seeing someone kick a puppy would turn me to the dark side instantly. But I’d probably hunt down Sith rather than Jedi.
According to Disney, for sure
The grey Jedi: “Um… hello?”
Disney: “Shut up you’re not canon!”
Rebel propaganda
Same could be said about Republicans
Edgelords gonna edgelord
Star wars fans got nothing on Harry Potter fans defending Slytherin. People on Harry Potter subs react to Slytherin jokes like racist jokes. Presumably because they took a Facebook quiz that said they are one
Noooooo they are morally ambigous like this one who’s gonna tourture a 7 year old for information.
The bottom picture is for people who have played the old republic

Honestly, feels like a lot of political parties these days…
The Sith are not a monolith!
You see a similar thing in Warhammer 40k.
Sith are the laziest written villains I’ve ever seen.
Sidious is mad corny fr
Republican’ts: you are the Sith. Get it?

Both panels seem accurate and not mutually exclusive.
Kreia had it right all along.
Jedi Order is hot trash tho.
Werent the sith the good guys and the jedi the bad guys in the end tho?
The player in cutscenes,
VS
the player in actually gameplay.
The films are a bad source of information when it comes to the Sith, they are obviously and unapologetically pro-Jedi propaganda.
Can we agree neither the sith nor the jedi order are actually good? The jedi are equivalent to crazy religious zealots and the sith fight such tyranny with more tyranny, heck the sith even fight themselves rule of 2 and all.
