A movie based on my favorite “So I Married an Axe Murderer” quote! Did they get the Colonel?
“Well, it’s a well known fact, Sonny Jim, that there’s a secret society of the five wealthiest people in the world, known as The Pentavirate, who run everything in the world, including the newspapers, and meet tri-annually at a secret country mansion in Colorado, known as The Meadows.
Nice to see Mike Myers again. I was pleasantly surprised to see him in the Austin powers super bowl commercial but disappointed it wasn’t a movie trailer 🙁
Meh. I feel like Mike Meyers’ brand of humor has had its time in the sun. I’m not excited to see this, though I’ll give the first episode a shot just in case I’m wrong.
Ending the trailer on that joke, though, does not give me high hopes. If THAT is the stinger at the end of the trailer (the bit that makes you slap your knee and think “Man, I’ve GOT to see this”) then the rest can’t be much better.
I get why people would be skeptical, but having just rewatched the Austin Powers series and found them consistently funny, I am excited for this. What can I say, Mike Myers makes me laugh.
It’s like Nutty Professor meets Terry Gilliam. I’m confused and intrigued.

It’s a series, not a movie.
I’m good.
The second I saw the title I thought “No, it couldn’t be”.
It is. And I’m IN.
When is a movie not a movie? When its a TV show of course…
Between the secret cabal plot and Mike Myers returning to his “character-comedy” roots, this one feels strongly inspired by “Doctor Strangelove.”
Is that Walter Cronkite, or Captain Kangaroo?

A Triumvirate means “three men who hold power”
So a Pentavirate would be 5 men who hold power?
Why not So I Married An Axe Murderer 2?
It’s been long enough that his character’s kid could be marrying an ax murderer. How’s Nancy Travis looking these days?
