Not only are his ideas and proven inventions stolen during his life some asshole even stole his name for a company.
He died in January 1943. Born in July 1856, so he was 86 in this picture.

Edison was a shameless self promotor. He borrowed, stole, and his team did a lot of the work that he claimed as his own. Tesla is the true genius. Too bad it took this long for people to realize. If it was up to Edison we’d all be using DC power, and having power stations all across America every few blocks. Then there’s the elephant…

When he died, his room at the Hotel New Yorker, was raided by the FBI. He lived there because he put the first AC generator in the basement and powered all the buildings nearby. The FBI packed up and confiscated all his paperwork. We may never know all that he was working on.
