is this going to be another one of those movies about the dangers of being a fucked up man, and a bunch of frat bros are going to want to emulate the main character instead of learn why its bad to be like the main character?
Weird that I saw this last night and only now they release a full trailer. Not the best fincher but still solid imo. My biggest issue was with the ending…
The great thing about this movie is that, on paper, the plot is identical to the wannabe-pulp action slop Netflix has made in the past, but because it’s made by a great director and not an algorithm it kicks ass
Cliche plot. Legendary killer who never deviates from his rules that make him the best, *has* to deviate from his rules in order to save the one he loves. This time, *it’s personal*…
That said, love Fassbender and Fincher so anything they make, even if the plot isn’t very original, is still going to be good. It’s ok to make an excellent movie on a tired plot still.
To quote Lex Luther, “Some people can read War and Peace and come away thinking it’s a simple adventure story. Others can read the ingredients on a chewing gum wrapper and unlock the secrets of the universe”..lol It would appear as a simple story but, I know that David Fincher movies are heavy with sub texts…
Saw this last night. The Florida chapter is peak Fincher and has what is probably the 2nd best fight scene of the year. The sound design is fucking incredible. Personally, I thought the last 2 chapters were a bit underwhelming. I didn’t want the movie to end. Loved the character. So glad I saw this in a theatre and so sad many wont. It really warrants a good sound system.
If you’d told me a year ago that fassbender was going to be starring in a David fincher film I’d probably be thrilled but I don’t know how I can enjoy it knowing that mindhunter is dead and fassbender is an abusive asshole
Saw this earlier. Fincher back in Panic Room mode, which is getting a simple/standard screenplay and concept and elevating it to elite heights with his direction.
To be honest, i think it’s one of Fincher’s weakest. It’s still a fun time, but it comes across as very “obviously made for streaming” type of movie.
Sections are great but it’s not as thrilling as it should be. It teeters out in the 3rd act. And I didn’t find any real evolution to this plot that’s been told a million times by now.
Still see it if you can, but late career Fincher hasn’t been hitting for me.
>Michael Fassbender stars in The Killer, a new film by David Fincher. Now playing in select theaters and on Netflix November 10.
>After a fateful near miss, an assassin battles his employers — and himself — on an international hunt for retribution he insists isn’t personal.
Personally I would say he should just get another job. This one doesn’t seem to provide him with much happiness or fulfillment.
What a fuckin trailer
Can’t wait for this. LOVED the comic and Fincher’s aesthetic is perfection.
I need this shit injected in my veins as soon as possible
Fincher back with a bang

Fincher always has the best trailers
Well this looks fantastic. Been a long time since we had a classic Fincher film get released. Hoping this is as good as it looks
What a killer trailer. Fassbender’s eyes are so profound. His face can say a lot without even speaking. So good to see him in movies again.
hope that sound design and music extends into the film. Sick.
Saw this last night in the theatre.
When I got out, I was walking, opening doors, dodging people and peeing into a urinal with immense precision.
I *was* The Killer.
This last quarter is great in new films and video games.
They filmed part of this film in my old neighborhood in Illinois!
Saw this at LFF.
It’s one of his weaker films imo (mainly due to the plot being very straightforward), but it’s still a solid David Fincher thriller and a great watch.
Saw this last night. Absolutely loved it. Top 5 Fincher for me personally
Thought it said Chris Parnell for a second. Thought I’d get to see Dr. Spaceman again.
I came here for Tilda + bang bang. Nothing more needed. Instantly sold.
Weird that I saw this last night and only now they release a full trailer. Not the best fincher but still solid imo. My biggest issue was with the ending…
Inspired from a GREAT french comic, almost one of a kind. Can’t wait to see this movie.
This looks like a Hitman moviefrom a parallel universe.
Da Finch man is back
Looks great, and will help me back up my fan casting of him as Agent 47
The great thing about this movie is that, on paper, the plot is identical to the wannabe-pulp action slop Netflix has made in the past, but because it’s made by a great director and not an algorithm it kicks ass
How about a movie about a guy helping his community
Even a Fincher trailer is an art form.
Quite possibly the most under rated filmmaker in the world.

They should have gone into more about that guy at the airport with the cool socks.
The movie may be great, but how fucking hard is it to come up with an original title? … this movie will never be as good as John Woo’s The Killer IMO.

this movie was amazing, went to the screening and going to see it again asap
No one can do it like David fincher.
On one hand, I love me another Fincher fiction. No doubt will be a masterful film.
On the other hand, feel a bit uneasy about the kind of energy this puts out into an already unhinged world.
My new comfort movie. It’s thoroughly awesome, if a little subdued for Fincher
God, [I love this film’s logotype](https://i0.wp.com/www.thewrap.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/the-killer-poster.jpg?resize=691%2C1024&ssl=1).
Like it shouldn’t work and it should feel super cheesy… but it doesn’t.
A very good film but the protagonist’s voice over was a bummer. Think the movie would’ve been a lot better without it
Just walked out of a screening here in Denver.

beautiful!
STICK TO YOUR PLAN.
