I’m looking forward to the new Metropolis show. This is one movie I’d love to see a worthy remake of.

1927 was an incredible year for cinema. Metropolis, Sunrise, Wings, Napoleon, The Jazz Singer, The Lodger, and October: Ten Days That Shook the World.
Some examples were solid, others were really reaching (like Robocop and the golden lady from Guardians of the Galaxy).
This is a tough one. I’ve never seen Metropolis (1927), but if I were to portray a dystopian future megalopolis, it would feature a lot of the same iconography. Would my rendition be considered an homage or reference?
Crazy how a vision of the future grounded in late 20s German society has become so enduring and universal.
The music is so haunting. Reminds me of Flight of the Navigator. Anyone know what it’s called?
The huge mechanism inside of the citadel in Fury Road reminds me of the Moloch in Metropolis.
