You know you all can just play what you want and ignore the ‘X game would MOP the floor with Y game!!!11’ right? At the end of the day it’s all meaningless hyperbole for engagement.
Friendly reminder that we shouldn’t forgive the devs for blatant lies and practically unplayable PS4 version of the game, no matter how good the state of the game is now.
BG3 in principal is the better game since it launched in a more finished state. Yeah it had early access but it didn’t try to be anything finished before this past August.
2077 is still a fantastic game but it’s entire launch was a botch job of epic proportions.
I would hate to be someone who doesn’t have both games, loves both games, appreciates both games and is happy to live in a world where both can co-exist.
I wish CDPR had just delayed release until this year. after 2.0 it is everything i wanted and expected at launch and more. It would have been worth the wait. BG3 would have still swept the awards, but awards dont mean shit to the end user so who cares? they are both fantastic games that absolutely deserve the praise
I think this just comes down to the appeal a game has to you. BG3 doesn’t appeal to me because I don’t like turn-based combat. I can appreciate that it’s a good game and the dev studio poured a tremendous amount of work and passion into the game. That, certainly can’t be argued.
Cyberpunk 2077 is more my style but I’m perfectly fine with people enjoying a game and it getting praised. Just because a particular game doesn’t appeal to us, doesn’t mean our judgment is infallible nor does it nullify what everyone else thinks of the game.
In the end, it’s as the saying goes “to each their own”
It’s been wild being on r/gaming and learning that only three games have ever come out (Baldur’s Gate III, Cyberpunk, and Starfield). I could have sworn there were other games but no, apparently those are the only ones.
The two games don’t even offer the same kind of gameplay. One is an action RPG and the other is turn based. One is cyberpunk the other is fantasy, which is about as distant from each other as settings can be.

Honestly, same can be said about Cyberpunk.

But it’s true
You’re too online if this kind of stuff bothers you
Why do I care if it mops the floor? I’ll just play BG3 too then.
Fanboyism is the dumbest kind of identity.
As an adult I enjoy both games.
Is OP just unaware of how Cyberpunk hype has been super intense lately?
Also who is actually saying this with BG3? Never heard it but damn do I see free advertising for Cyberpunk daily
It’s okay. When next game from larian won’t cure cancer it’s gonna be worse than Hitler
STOP HAVING FUN
-OP, basically.
I love cp2077, but BG3 is so much better. The story, the interactions, the romance options… The world seems so mch more alive.
Starting?

I have literally not seen this sort of nonsense anywhere.
