This is actually a pretty common sign in most hotels nowadays.

Standard policy for pools. Feces and vomit create a biohazard that needs to be cleaned (remove the waste, chemically treat the water, backwash the pool). While that’s going on, no one can be in the pool.

In the US they are legally required to post this message for any public pool or hot tub.
Along with several other messaged and signs, all with minimum letter height requirements.

The main reason I don’t go to water parks. The pools can still harbor tons of germs, parasites, and bacteria.
These signs are at most pools. Low quality post.
I love that the sign is also a proper shade of brown too… 😆
Why does it say “Please shower before using pool”? Because they’re too polite to say, “Wash out your butthole, you lazy, half-wiping POS.”

I caught cryptosporidium from a public pool, almost killed me. Legit warning.
I make signs for a living. We do a lot of packages for apartments. This is just standard, required, ada signage.
As a former Pool Plant Operator I can tell yall it’s because of cryptosporidium. It is the 00.01% that chlorine and other cleaning products can’t kill. It has a hardened shell that is resistant to chemical treatments. And the side effect of cryptosporidium is basically death by diarrhoea. Can be quite dangerous. Sorry to be very serious about it all.

2 weeks prior seems excessive
I see those signs at every public pool.
This is because the microorganisms that commonly cause diarrhea can survive in a pool for hours or days, depending on which one you have. The two weeks is specifically because of a parasite called *Cryptosporidium*, which can still be in you, you guessed it, up to 2 weeks after the diarrhea stops.
You new to public pools? Next you’ll show a sign saying car occupants must wear seatbelts…
