I knew a man who was the superintendent of schools in Carleton County, New Brunswick back in the late ’50s. One winter, they lost a bus, buried in snow. They found it in the spring.
Now I could be wrong, but I believe one of the times this picture was posted, somebody mentioned these were telegraph lines for the railroad. The poles weren’t as tall as a typical power line, but still impressive nonetheless.
Looks like a repost. I’ve seen this image 1 time.

Holy moly. Can you imagine just having to dig out of your house?
“Crack a window honey. I’ll grab a shovel. I have to dig a tunnel through the snow or this house will be our tomb”
And we walked 5 miles to school in that!
I could be wrong but i don’t think it’s safe to stand that close to power lines
And right after this, dozens of scientific papers and articles sounded the panic button on the coming global ice age.

It was the same in Newfoundland , Canada.
Oh jeepers ya, I remember that storm you betcha….
“I’m almost certain I parked the Buick right around here somewhere…”
“Park it by the pole she says…..”

😳
Good thing we have global warming now.. this looks worse
Holy crap
I think it’s more likely that these are short power lines rather than 20 feet of snow.
“Geez, that was a doozy of a blizzard. Do you think the power lines are down?”
“No, the ground is just up.”
