The greedy sure do suck lol. They really bring their own misery on themselves though.
Love this movie. Like in Dracula Keanu struggles a little with his accent (hard to tell in this clip because he’s shouting, but he’s Southern in this one), but it may be my favorite Pacino performance after The Godfather.
It’s actually a real sculpture and the film didn’t get the rights to use it. The artist sued them and they digitally erased the sculpture, so there are two different DVDs one where you can see the sculpture and one where it’s wiped over.
I always thought this was the worst part of the film, just really cringey overacting.
Peakcino
Al Pacino’s always had it, check out his first feature role Picnic at Needle Park, very bleak but a truly great performance as a drug addict.
Pacino’s demeanor in the first bit of the scene reminds me of his Ricky Roma in Glengarry Glen Ross in the scenes when he’s selling to the guy in the Chinese restaurant.
I’ve always loved the depiction of the devil in this movie. It’s just perfect. He tempts, he suggests, he hints, and he’s not really wrong. Nearly every depiction of the devil in film uses some variation of my username in it.
Al Pacino, starring as Al Pacino in this movie, just like all other movies with Al Pacino in them after 1983.
Terrible call on having Keanu try to force that horrible accent lmao
