Oh wauw, thats cool. How times have changed.
But it’s beautifully executed…
Wouldn’t a “beautiful” Hitman assassination look like anything but an assassination? I believe the game rewarded creativity.

We live in a society
I’m not surprised. We live in a world where violence has been more acceptable than anything remotely sexual for a while now. It’s just a beautiful photo of a gorgeous model, who just got shot because the game is about killing people. If it had been a boring photo of a male soldier who had just been shot in the head as well, there would have been less controversy.
Just tack on “controversial” or say “this would never pass today” on anything old and you’ll get angry upvotes from the “back in my day!” crowd.
Holy shit, a core memory that I forgot I had. This ad introduced me to the Hitman series and is the reason I bought the game.
I love the shoes.

It generated a VERY minor controversy of which there is only 1 article for a only recently released Californian State Senator making some comments about it who ironically enough went to prison for 5 years for Chinese gang related offenses (felony racketeering charges for money laundering, political corruption, arms trafficking, and bribery).
It also wasn’t the only one… it was the whole ad series that got heat, including the cellist who was garroted by a wire, and the old guy frozen solid in a freezer. It WAS though the only one that happened to have a half naked women and have her shot in the head with blood. The cellist had only a red mark around his neck but very little blood and the old guy was solid blue and frozen but both were in their 50’s+ and fully dressed. She meanwhile is young and half naked… so kinda a double standard.
I liked the “classically executed” one with the music artist that either had his throat slit or was strangled with piano wire

Ah Hitman BM. I must’ve played that suburban level (A New Life) like a thousand times. Just silenced pistoling everybody. Good times.
I don’t remember this Hitman ad. I remember the latex-wearing nun Assassins though. Hitman has ruffled a lot of feathers in its time.

why this released in America? I’ve never seen this, it’s pretty dope tho.
What is controversial ? It makes me think about Suspiria’s murders, color-wise. It’s beautiful.
