Chilton is one of the most underrated talents to come out of the 60’s, with the Box Tops and later Big Star the dude practically invented Power Pop.
All the facial expressions are great
One of my favorite videos of all time. The band goes off the rails toward the end and it’s hysterical.

I had always heard stories about Chilton being difficult and surly. My old band opened for him about 20 years ago, and he was just lovely.
He’s so angsty. I love it.
So that’s the guy that wrote all those car repair manuals. Huh.

16??? I’ve loved this song my entire life, 51 years thus far. He sounds like an old dwarf of a man, like my whole life I’ve envisioned an old man hobbit singing this song. Why did he voice sound so mature lol
