I am still playing through and while i do eye roll at how hard the good guys go out of their way to beat the “environment good” message over and over, i did enjoy the different Navi cultures and the strangely engaging anto colonialism messages throughout.
Honestly i prefered the game story a lot more then Way of Waters
Also, I checked Game Informers review of the game and I couldn’t find the word “entertaining” anywhere in the article. So take from that what you will.
I didn’t notice this came out but I’m a huge fan so I’m really excited. How is it so far? While I’ve heard it’s still a Ubisoft game through and through, I’ve read some reviews saying it has some interesting things that set it apart somewhat.
Reviews are getting less and less detailed nowadays, almost like it’s getting harder and harder to say anything good about the horrible games coming out.
(Looking at Ubisoft, Blizzard, EA, Activision, etc.)
For what its worth, the game looks incredible and the attention to detail in the world to make it like the movies is not something to overlook. The gameplay may be far cry primal, but the love the world got, and the way hunting, gathering and clan relations work in the game is exactly the way its portrayed in the movies. You are rewarded for mercy kills and clean kills, requiring you to think about how you want to take down animals as the worse its done the less materials you get. Picking fruits is different depending on the plant with a minigame of turning the joystick and rotating/pulling with the tree to get the best quality items. There is no currency other than clan favor, so trading is about doing sidequests for them to earn new items. You can turn off map markers by using explorer mode so quests and other POI are given through exploration. The combat while very similar to far cry primal has its own elements with flying, dashing, and different traps. Finally Its not a bloated game with completion taking 15-25hrs. I cant think of a reason for people not to try it, considering it has very little of the annoying ubisoft isms that we have come to expect. It also performs great on multiple systems, which at this point is also something to commend. Its $15 for ubisoft+ where you can play the full game, alongside AC Mirage, and The Crew Motorfest to determine if you like those also.
I kept laughing my ass off whenever it came up. This is how I describe a Fast and Furious movie or a dive bar. It’s like bare minimum qualification for something to be worth doing.
The COD franchise is great at these. The newest game has so many “…” In it that it’s almost like they take entire review articles and just use words that have nothing to do with each other. Like, how many people are gonna be Impressed when your game says “electrifying… Riveting… Absolutely astonishing…”, and was taken from a publisher that gave the game a 6/10 for a boring story and a copy and paste multiplayer. It’s like the marvel always say their movies are “the number one movie of the year,” it’s just so cringe and misleading.
Well, they do say games are supposed to be entertaining.
lol I’m so glad someone else caught that
What’s next in video games? Fun?
“Definitely one of the game that came out this year.”
I love when they take single words out of reviews. Really makes you wonder what the whole sentence was.
“One of the worst games I’ve ever played, at least some of the bugs were entertaining”
Just like the first one.
Avatar is a better game than movie.
“It launched when I clicked the icon.”
-IGN
Are they saying entertainment is entertaining?
I’m shocked!
“When you hear the buzzer you will laugh”
Yup I got a good chuckle when I saw that

The font isn’t Papyrus. Why isn’t it Papyrus?
7.8/10 too much (way of the) water – IGN
See if anyone remembers that chestnut
Bare Minimum is apparently the bar for them.

Being entertaining is quite rare for AAA these days so that’s a plus
When the publisher doesn’t pay quite enough for the review
Considering Ubisoft, for them thats a big achievement
i am now informed.
I caught that too lol. My wife asked me why they were using just single words for it lol.

Game looks like Far Cry Primal on LSD
“runs”
– IGN
games based off movies almost always suck
I laughed so hard when that came up lmao .. like huh .. ya don’t say?
If you like avatar it is very much so, been playing with my lady
#kinda ok I guess
-rob from accounting
I’m just so uninterested in the IP it’s based on that I probably won’t end up playing it even if it’s good.
Avatar is probably one of my least favorite big name franchises.

I want the dumbass who gave 11/10 to Rdr2 to give 10.5/10 to a game with the quote “it okay I guess”
(nothing against Rdr2, but giving unrealistic scores is just stupid, stay at 10 if this is your max score. Also journalists scores are stupid, fuk’em)
I played it twice, both times I got softlocked in under an hour, they need to fix this shit
The game is… A GAME!
*cue dramatic music*
It’s a UbiSoft game – they’re never short on entertainment
In the same way punting a pie into an idiot’s face is entertaining
But they have no staying power – eventually, without exception – you ***will*** reach a point where their formula wears thin and boredom creeps in
How long that takes depends on your tolerance levels – how often you have to play through their games – and how many of them you’ve played before
> **”Absolutely Playable”**
The full quote was “Barely entertaining”
Ubisoft took some liberties
Even being entertaining is too much to ask for from ubisoft games at this point….
I like Ubisoft games, I bought this game and I am excited to try it.
I got a free copy with a Ryzen purchase, and yeah it’s about on the same level as Hogwarts Legacy.
It doesn’t bring anything new, and falls
Into a very established genre of open world checklist games that are decent enough. Looks pretty too.
Soulless game, for the few minutes of gameplay i saw. Far cry like game with blue npcs is a description many are using
Are you not entertained?
No.
*”It aight”*
Gollum was entertaining too.
What’s their point.

I have so incredibly low expectations for the avatar game
Entertaining game informer – weird company name
Truly one of the games of all time.
